Ok about 7-8 or so years ago when I still lived with my parents we knew these two people ill just call them Jane and Bob now Bob was 45 and Jane was 28 and they were both married. At first it was great but soon enough Jane was working 16 hours or so a day while bob did nothing so they could stay in Australia on a workers Visa. One day Jane visited my parents house and asked my mum (who does horoscopes etc) if there was a way for her to break up with her husband but for them to remain friendly. My mum gave her what she needed but her husband found out and thought my mum and her were trying to kill him. Jane's husband stopped Jane from coming to our house and became paranoid. Now Jane is really hot and her husband thought she was cheating on him with his psych Bob did a lot of stupid things and ended up in court. Jane left him and fled back to Europe while Bob stayed in Australia and was allowed to live here because he knew some people very high up. Bob is now married and lives in another city and is married to a 70 year old.

So Jane now couldn't come back to Australia unless she had an Australian husband... this is where I come in. Since I was 18 I could legally marry someone my mother asked me if I would marry Jane so she could live in Australia. The plan was Jane would come here in Australia as my fiance and get married to me (this is legal) we would have to be married for 2 years then could devorce and Jane could legally live here. Now Jane was a really great woman and no one could know what she had went through in her life she was forced to live in a wartorn country and I was a good friend of Jane so I accepted. The marriage didn't have to be physical except for 1 kiss and we would have to be married for 2 years meaning we could just be friends nothing physical would have to happen. I thought sure ok why not.

The plan went as we all agreed I married Jane and we remained married for 2 years until we got divorced this didn't really bother me at all or Jane we both knew we weren't in a serious relationship just as much I beleive that I was never married. Now Jane lives in Australia i've got a girlfriend who is cool with it so everything ended up good. And I am planning on marrying properly my new girlfriend. Do you guys think doing this kind of thing is right or is it wrong? Cause it aint illegal or so per say. Let's not turn this into a flame war I may or have may not really married Jane but I may also have done this. Her real name is not Jane also, I dont want to put this in D&ST cause its more like one of the true version's of the Fancy Bollox stories. So like before what do you guys think of this?

I don't see what's wrong with it. The problem with the world is that people can't even do what they want anymore. If "Jane" wants to live in Australia, she should be able to. You're just kind of sticking it to the man! Way to go!

Spray, sometimes this is an easy (although morally grey) way to help someone get to a better life. It does make things difficult for the people who legitimately want to get married to a foreigner. My wife and I had to go through all kinds of nonsense to prove our marriage is real because of situations like this. On one hand, it's an example of someone screwing the honest people because you're trying to cheat the system. On the other hand, it's giving someone a much better life than they could've had otherwise. Tough decision. It really depends on how bad her life was in Europe.

The reason they came here is because they were serbians living in Bosnia they would have possibly been shot or killed they sent her back to Bosnia instead of Serbia even though the war is over people will still kill you because of where you come from in quick terms its fucked up she would have a wage of under 10K US a year and would have to live in fear. No way they managed to escape the war in the 90's she worked her ass of she didn't deserve to be put back in a country in which she worked her ass off to stay out of it. If her proper husband wasn't a dickhead she would have been able to stay in Australia no matter what.

In that situation, it was justified. Bosnia's a fucked up place for serbs now.

So what you're saying is you definitely did not do things that wouldn't contradict yourself doing so you could not do and so therefore do what was right but not right you did anyway even though you didnt not do it?

It's probably a stretch calling the fools making these comments here "men". My money says they're all < 18, probably < 16. Point system works In 3 ways Money, Education, Status (single or married) before she got in because she was married to a non Aussie but he had University he used to do childrens shows. But he is probably the most screwed in the head person I have ever seen he is a sociopath and cared more about the dog they had then his wife. He was also into alot of crap with the cops he was a paedophile and a large robber, he used to steal from the liquor shops he "worked at". I cant beleive filth like that can continue to live in this great country when someone who worked hard to stay here cant. Anyway im 3rd generation Australian and quite a bit of generations Serbian but my great great grandpa was born here and my grandmother lived here. I was happy to be accepted into this great country and was greatful enough that I joined the reserves theres about 72K soldiers in Australia and its in its 90's in % of how much of it is with reserves. We have a small army but we are more technologically advanced then the country we share borders with... Indonesia. So far in the war in Iraq we have only used SAS so chances of me ever seeing combat are slim unless sh*t hits the fan. I don't even count myself as being in the army all I got was 3 months or so of Basic training and I gotta go every few weeks or every week or so to stay sharp. I realise how lucky I was to get into Australia I didn't even work hard for it. Jane did and she deserved to be a citizen, she was probably the most hardest working person ive seen.

She worked at some cruddy cafe from morning to its close down time at midnight and worked Mon-Sat she also had another job on Sunday. I found it unfair that her peice of sh*t husband managed to evade everything without working. The only reason she did leave was because of him she was doing the work of two people and couldn't take it anymore after about 1 or 2 years of just that.

The reason I asked everyone was just to see what their oppinion on it was. I was about 100% sure with myself that I did the right thing.

Not all this is directed at the person I quoted just the 1st paragraph of the 1st half or so. I find when I talk about something I tend to go too much into details creating a wall of text. Blame it on the year 12 English teacher I had with all the 20 page essay's etc.
