how hot does the coolant get in that system? luke warm?
I'm not worried about my CPU (yet). I have a decent heatsink on it now. It generally stays 32c and under.~{TPP}~richoxon wrote:
had to put another radiator in, just for the cards.the cpu and hdd's have there own radiator.

cards run at 40-55 deg @ 610/1000, cpu at around 42 deg @3.4ghz

4633 for me.
Not bad at all, you are almost at stock 6800 speeds. Now that's how you save some money .Bertster7 wrote:

I just can't seem to get past 10000. Damnit. I'll do it eventually.

680i to thank for that - I love it. Look at those FSB settings.Kmarion wrote:

In the UK that's a price gap of £100 compared to £650, so £500 - that's a saving of $1000.

Think something is really wrong with mine :S I have been putting in the software in my new system all day and finally thought I would see what kind of scores I would get on the 3dmark06. I got 6000..... Now as far as I know that is a good score but with these specs I was expecting to get closer to Bertster7, Kmarion or even ~{TPP}~richoxon rig's score.
Here is my spec:
CPU: Intel C2D E6600
RAM: 4GB CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800)Mobo:
EVGA NF680i SLI, S775, PCI-E(x16)
GPU: Evga 8800 GTX
850W Galaxy
150GB x2 10k Raptor 300GBMonitor:
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
I was planning on Overclocking the CPU later but was expecting a much higher stock score than that :S What you think is wrong guys?

My stock score with the same chipset and a 6300/8800GTS is just over 7000. You should be getting more than that.Bell wrote:

Should actually say iv got a borrowed 8800GTS in it atm but wasnt expecting that much of a score drop over the GTX :S So it must be something other than the GPU

It's a bigger gap than you think, but nothing to explain your scores. You sure your CPU and memory are configured right?Bell wrote:

Also what is your CPU score in 3dmark?

25% less power right? Least from what I read atleast, as far as I know everything is set properly, it's all at stock havent messed with settings yet and was installed by an engineer (mate of mine who builds computers as a side income) since I knew I would fuck it up, seems he did just as badly! I called him about it and he hasnt a clue as to why its under performing, neither do I and theres no real reason for it to be :S It seems to be running fine, I mean I tried 2142 on all high with full AA and got a great smooth FPS (havent clocked the speed yet) while running 2 other applications in the background. Stopped them all to run the 3dmark06 test and that was the score I acheived :SBertster7 wrote:

Post a pic of a few pages of your BIOS settings. Easy to do using nTune and printscreen. Might shed some light on this mystery.Bell wrote:

HAHAHAHA!
Intel P4 3.05 ghz
512 mb RDRAM (yea RDRAM...old school mofo's)
400 Watt PSU
6800 gs
I got a 3050, with a P4 3.06, 1 GB of ram, 7600GT.
What would my numbers be like with a C2D 2.6 + extreme edition motherboard, 1GB, and a 7600GT?
higher I hope?

just found out ( after i paid for it) 3dmark 06, doesn't support 8800's yet!
So you cant add your scores to the site if you have them
you can search the 36m06 site for different combinations of cpu/mobo/gpu's , to get an idea of what others are getting

I don't know where you heard that from. You can add 8800 scores. They had a problem earlier today with ORB, but it's working now.~{TPP}~richoxon wrote:

when you're running 3dmark make sure your image 3d settings are adjusted for performance and not quality, i.e. no AA, No AF, etc. I forgot this the first time I ran the benchmark on my system. ~7500 seemed kinda low for an E6600/8800GTS albeit with only one gig of corsair XMS. adjusted my settings for performance and the score bounced up to ~9k. good luckBell wrote:

It's a faulty mobo, the pci-e slot's are broken and there is damage on the rear of the motherboard it's self (huge friggen crack) and finially one of the RAM sticks is also faulty, we found this out after taking the thing appart in the small hours (I have trouble sleeping). Mailing it back and getting my money back but not re-ordering till I check a compatibility issue out.Reciprocity wrote:

Thanks anyways what you said could also have made a dent as I did have it all set to quality

this proves that windows cant recognize more than 3 gb rams. look at memory size at link. then look at his sig.
