Good on your son.
Being brutally honest, nearly everyone has been bullied in their life, however it is unfortunately usually up to the kid to sort it out, as much as teachers try to help, they usually can't or won't. I was bullied and like your son, finally snapped and attacked the kid back, it sorted things out, I got suspended from school but was left well well alone for the rest of my schooling time. Mainly because the single punch I got onto hsi face managed to damage a nerve in his mouth beyond repair and actually made the kids front two teeth "die", they went black and kind of show to the rest of the world, "look at me, I did this to myself".
Bullying shouldn't be accepted in schools, however it is a real thing that happens at any age level, down to infants to adults, fortunately, kids aren't as cruel as adults, the fortunately for them, the repercussions are not as severe either.
When/If I ever have a child (bear in mind I'm still in my teens
), If I hear wind of him or her bullying anyone else I am not sure how I react, however I do believe that I would have little air left in my lungs, and the child the next day would be at school and I would have them apologise to the kid/s in front of his class, or something to that sense. It's always been something I'd hate to have to think about, someone I brought up to make someone elses life hell.
