NO!!! just patch up the the latest patch dont unistall anything!!!!!!!
I think you only have to do the newest patch. I dont think you have to reinstall bf2. I say this because it happened when I first installed special forces and the cd didnt have the latest patch. I added the patch and voila it worked. It will save you a buttload of time.
