Military.  Anyone that has been in the military for 20 years is going to have experience dealing with people from all levels of society and all walks of life.  This person would probably also think twice before sending soldiers into battle.  They would have a pretty good idea of what it is like to work hard for something.

Anyone that has a degree from Yale, Harvard, or Princeton is likely to be a fluffy bitch with extremely wealthy parents.  This person would probably only have associated with other elites, never worked a real job a day in their life, and have no idea how the real world works.  They probably believe in "trickle down" economics.

I would also settle for 3 Terminator movies (half joking).

LOL! I agree with your assessment of the military experience equating to a fine prez.

As for the grads:

Justice Alito: Graduated from Yale Law School.

Justice Roberts: Graduated from Harvard Law School.

So is Yale and Harvard an ideal experience for Judges of the Supreme Court but not the Prez?

Military experience doesn't always guarantee a very professional Presidency, as history has shown.

Military.  Degrees are nice, but a military man could be better equipped to handle the decisions and pressures of the presidency.

never never never ever include a comical answer in a pool because people think that they will be the only one to choose it and make people laugh. In the end half of people end up choosing the funny answer

Definitly and education if you ask me.

Tough question... A academic isn't really gonna solve much, but we don't really want an American du Gaulle.

I don't think just a degree or just military service will be that great. Sure an education is nice, sure experience in the military is nice but, dunno a combination of the two? A well rounded prez is what I want.

We don't need any military leaders, wars=ftl...

we need a normal person.. someone who doesn't have 200million dollars in the bank and is not completely disillusioned with society.

IM not sure about the yale harvard or princeton aspect.   I still hold onto the idea that "anyone" can be President, even though its not true.  I doubt the Presidency should be up for trust fund babies and children of millionaires.

With a due respect and exception to all those who worked thier asses off and earned thier right to attend Yale, Harvard, or Princeton.

The military service would be a good idea though. You, as President, make tactical desicions, you should have military knowledge.  I doubt few other presidential decisions have such a drastic and immediate consequence on human life, than giving the go ahead into full military conflict.

As for Arnold, what the fuck is wrong with the people of California?

We need an economist with combat experience.

A solid background in economics will allow the politician to have a coherent platform on budgeting, and combat experience will give him the familiarity necessary for comprehensive foreign policy (and the sense to let the military handle itself for the most part).

We need more politicians that understand where their direction in policy ends and where military administration begins.  Too many politicians cripple the effectiveness of our military through micromanagement (LBJ) or mismanagement (Donald Rumsfeld).
