I Am using a WPN311 RangeMax(TM) Wireless PCI Adapter and i've never had lag since i had bf2 for at least a year, so i played and played with no lag always below 100's , but one day i started up my computer and got my bf2 started and updated my server listing and i always check my ping rates...............( 500-700 Ping on every freakin server ) i was like wtf, but what gets me is that my internet, TS, Vent, and everything else is workin fine and dandy. so i try everything in the world with my noobish self to fix the ping, but nope..... cant fix anything, so for all you computer kings out there, PLZ PLZ PLZ help me out, cleaning folders Etc. i have all the time in the world. i just need step by step since im a computer noob. Either PM me, AIM is ZeRoLiFe9490 , and xfire is snipethesniper.

Note, i dont want bullshit posters, who just want to be jackasses , i just want some help and thats all, so theres my problem, hope someone can really help me out. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

Try this:

Right click on my computer icon
Go to manage
Open the services/applications part
Click services
Scroll down to wireless zero configuration, right click on it and press 'stop'

This  helped me with my wireless, I used to alllways get a 2 second lag spike every minute when playing. Don't know if it will help your problem though, worth a try

I have a wireless router.
When I get sudden lags or spikes, I find it's usually when I first start up, after being out of the house.
It's usually caused by a small power spike (brown-out), or perhaps even an outage (black-out).  Apparently the router doesn't like them?

I go downstairs, and unplug the router and the modem.  Plug in again, they reboot.  Check phone (DSL) connection is still fully in the receptacle.  Then go back upstairs and reboot computer.
This fixes it for me, hope it's as simple for you.  (I don't notice much of an internet lag, because loading web pages moves much less data than Bf2.)

if you havent changed it, it should be usr: admin pass: admin

and yes opening ports for a specific program will make it run faster if it uses them however not all programs use the common open ports so ur vent and ts dont need the same ports as bf2, maybe they do, just try opening that list
