So I'm driving down the road... and lo and behold, there's a humongous banner saying 'Royal Flora Ratchaphruek' (a flower festival up north in Chiang Mai, this big honor the king festival thing) and right below it is 'Experience the Golden Shower'.

I almost crashed.

I burst out into laughter, almost hit a freaking truck after swaying a bit and balanced myself out before I took a u-turn to look at it again; And, yes, I read it right; Experience the Golden Shower. WTF. Doing a bit of research; turns out 'Golden Shower Tree' is the name of Thailand's national flower. Great.

Don't you just love this country?

As a side note; stupid government is trying to pass a law to raise the drinking age to 25, and designated 100% alcohol free zones. WTF, again. Well, I guess from a moral standpoint a high drinking age is better than no drinking age.

I just got back from Thailand and saw a poster with that same "Experience the Golden Shower" slogan on it. I was in a cab and didn't have time to get the camera out to take a pic of it, but can verify that it does exist.

I saw a sign up in Kanchanaburri trying to entice Western tourists into a street stand for a cool refreshing ice cold Cock of Cola.

English as a second language can be such an amusing thing.

Thailand is also the only place I have been to in the world where you can buy your "ice cold Cock of Cola" in a plastic bag with a straw.

I'm not sure about Cock of Cola (lol), but you can get drinks in plastic bags all throughout Asia, including India.
