Some of you may already know how I feel about the 700 mile fence going up on the Mexican order of the US. I don't feel it's the right solution and that the politicians have just folded into submission upon the request of a small group. I of course do understand the illegal immigration problem needs a solution but this is not it.

The reason I made this post is not to state the obvious but to share this. I made a couple jokes about "the fence". One of them was, "If we send all the illegal Mexicans back who will build the fence". Here is a situation in which life imitates comedy.

Look, the 'Rabbit Proof Fence' didn't work in Australia, and it was pretty big. This big fence won't work for them either.

I think what I love about Israel is, they don't play any of the political correctness bullshit games, and you can't stand it.

Regimes that don't play politically correct generally don't stand the test of time: like Nazi Germany or Apartheid South Africa for instance. That's the nice thing about the wonderful cycle of life - eventually everybody gets brought to justice.

Ok, i can see the part about splitting a country like germany, But to have some sort of diversion between our country and another is bad why? I mean european borders are alot more secure than ours will ever be if we dont do something, anything. I think the damn fence should extend across the whole dang border. The amount of money we give that country and they STILL cant pull themselves up, They need to learn basic economics rather than running into our country or even haveing the nerve to tell us how to run ours.

Are you kidding? Most european borders are nothing but sea, guarded by nobody. And now we're letting all and sundry join the flipping EU - people like Poland, Czech Republic, soon even Turkey - so they don't have to come in as illegals anymore.

This time there was a LE detractor;

Grand Island Police Chief Steve Lamken said he refused to let his officers take part in the raid.

Why not put signs that say "Peligro: Campo de Minas Antipersonales" ("Danger Anti-Personal Mines") all over the border? They'll think twice on trying to cross it (no mines though), let's just hope they can read, if not put some images.

Pretty much... and... They're expensive as hell. Any conservative who supports the construction of a wall along the entire Mexican border is clearly not in favor of small government.

Good points. I will say this... If the Mexican government is collaborating in this, we should remove them from NAFTA. That will teach them a lesson.

The problem is that multi-national corporations with interests between America and Mexico don't really care what this illegal immigration is doing to our infrastructure. We keep moving towards a deceptive form of free trade that mostly just benefits rich companies with assets in Mexico, but do not help the average American citizen or even the average Mexican citizen.

If NAFTA had really worked the way it was promoted to work, so many Mexicans wouldn't be coming here for work. The Mexican economy would have improved significantly enough that they would be able to find jobs there.

I think if we revoked NAFTA, slapped tariffs on Mexican goods, and perfected a guest worker system, then most of the current problems would be solved. We could increase border patrols, but we could also prosecute more employers for hiring illegals. In addition to this, border patrols should have the license to kill drug dealers and MS-13 members.

If we pulled out of Iraq, we could put more soldiers on the border, and arm them well.

All of this could be accomplished in a much more efficient manner than building a wall.
