I always hear people blabbering on about how you need a joystick to fly well.. No you dont. If you suck at it with mouse and keyboard, spending $40 wont make you better.

Look, I'm sure you can fly very well with a mouse and keyboard (probably better than I do with a stick as I suck at flying) but allow me to ask a couple of questions.

1) How many loops can you do until you run out of desk-space or cord with a mouse?
2) Can you change the pitch/roll of your jet with minuet amounts of accuracy with a keyboard?
3) If a mouse and keyboard offer far greater control why have aircraft used joysticks (or yolks) since the Wright brothers first sent a few bits of wood and some bed spread skywards?

If you can get something that can help your piloting abilities, that is allowed by the game, why would you not? That's just like the whining kids who say skilled players don't bunny hop.

YEAH, the keyboard and mouse is the better choice i think, joysticks are for noobs..k+m FTW!!!!

people always say im using a noob joystick because i pwn using k+m, but i dont!!!

Hint, the answer is Who the hell cares. If flying is that important, Try the new flight sim Microsoft has out, youll be very impredded and actually put a joystick to some real use. Keyboard and mouse are just fine for this game.

Well i recommend to fly especially heli only with keyboard. Because you got such a accurate steering then, you can turn and roll soo good. Well i'm going to get a joystick in xmas, so new changes;)

hate to be picky BUT, a joystick was not present on the wright brothers plane. also when they did gain popularity with aircraft engineers they were physically linked to what they controlled,. ie.. flaps, etc.. by cables and pulleys. even today there are a great deal of physical links between controls and control surfaces.

To be honest though i just use the keyboard as i have always done since TFX back in the day...

Actually, yes, you do suck if you use the m/k. You will NEVER beat an equal skilled player that uses a joystick (if you do they suck or you're just good).

I got pretty good with just keyboard... but when I got a joystick... jeez, it's amazing how much better it is.

I am more precise with the M+K combo then with a joystick. I do pretty decent in choppers.

note: I only have a 2.0 chopper KD because i pilot...Always....

1) Endless, just move the mouse back and forward really
2)It`s a bit twitchy, but 100% throttle all the time is good, this is only a issue when landing but who ever does that?

I think Joystick>m+k for dogfighting & m+k>stick for more accurate mg fire

I use mouse and keyboard and i only find it hard flying in f11 cause i dont see the mountain or sumat in front of me lol and its annoying switching from f10 and f11 to.

nice flying, to the Joystick people. You can still think joystick is better, but at least admit that this was some nice flying and his loops were pretty clean with keyboard and joystick. He flew better than a lot of joystick guys, and that's it. It's not that hard to own with a mouse and keyboard in a jet.

Not to sound like a prick because the video was very good no matter what hardware you used, the music actually fit & I was impressed by the double backflip thing you did through the dam but I saw 2 things I never see on a joystick pilots videos, first you took damage at least twice (only watched the vid once) & 2nd I saw at least one spot where you wrecked but cut the footage before it happened. That stuff doesn't happen in the vids I've seen made by joystick pilots. I'm not trying to criticize you here, I have all of 10 minutes & 3 kills in a jet, those 3 kills are only because I rammed a blackhawk too! I'm just sayin...

I liked video and I am using mouse too but I cant do yet such rolls tho im learning.

I wanted to buy a stick, but then I said, for what, because I like flying jets but I am not whoring them, so I changed some controls and I am happy with my mouse.

Mouse and keyboard work fine with me. I can do loops and go upside down underneath things. Not too hard. I tried using my OLD joystick, and it wouldn;t work since there was no BF2 preset. I tried setting it up to BF2 settings, still wouldnt work though.
