Good Christ...have you looked at the propaganda you are spewing?
lol, ?
Thank you, I thought it was a nice touch.

What the hell are you talking about? I'm talking about the RADICAL right wing Christians who ARE imposing their beliefs on EVERY American in this country, and nationalist assholes such as the Bush administration who say "If you're not with us, you're against us".
My misunderstanding then. Sorry about that. What I saw was questions from you re: Jesus says no, you say yes, so why? And are you a hypocrit? Followed up by a statement about how assholes are steamrolling all over your beliefs. I don't see how US foreign policy is included in a debate about the death penalty. Which is why the leap was made.
The issues aren't are not intertwined - death penalty = state level issue. Foreign policy = National issue. So my interpretation is that by including "USA is best", Islamics should die, and Christian Right in the same sentence in a thread about the death penalty is that you believe these are one in the same. My bad.
So I took it in the wrong way - you're saying here's one more thing that stinks about this country...there are so many of them...here's some more examples like it.

Supporting something you disagree with doesn't make them a Nazi.

Exactly, that's why I said we probably won't become fascist anyway. I didn't fucking call them a Nazi, but if you look at the INCREASING level of hostility towards other countries, choosing security over freedom, and the increasing level of hypocrisy and bullshit expressed by both political parties, you CAN draw MANY disturbing PARALLELS between USA today and GERMANY in the 1930's.
Did I fucking call them Nazis? No. You misunderstoof what I meant, dude. I'm not calling them Nazi's because they disagree with my own beliefs that no one cares about anyway, I'm saying there's PARALLELS in their fucking attitudes with the attitudes of other fascist states, including the Nazis before the buildup of World War 2.
So the current attitudes parallel fascism, and then citing Nazis as a good example? Sounds like your splitting hairs. Unfortunately, I still think that applies.
I hate the extremes right or left equally, BTW. But I don't think it's dangerlously close to coming to fruition as you say it is. And frankly, leaving town is stupid. Stick around and fix the problem. The death penalty is a tough issue - ultimate sin either equates to ultimate punishment or forgiveness. It's not hard to imagine yourself as a member of the victim's family or in the shoes of the condemmed. The justice system certainly has flaws, but you know, you got to have faith it works most of the time sorting it all out. I personally believe its the right thing to do not because I go to church, but because its rationalized...its equal to the crime.
Until I see an argument that will trump the victim family's feelings that the killer shouldn't get the death penalty, I'll support the death penalty.
