If the person is 100% guilty, all the proof points to him... then it should be allowed. Just make it more efficient. If the guy definitely did it, then give the verdict and sentencing and then take him to the prison house, give him his last meal, and then just kill him. Honestly, this dude took 34 minutes to die? Wouldn't happen with a swift piece of shaped metal to the head.
This is the pure irony of the death sentence: it's supposed to keep the most dangerous people off the face of the earth, and yet it takes up to 30 years for the guy to actually be removed. During which not only could he escape, but the government spends boatloads of cash on keeping him fed, housed, entertained, and handled humanely.
Also, KEIOS, I see your point but in the USA we were founded with this little thing called Seperation of State and Church. Maybe I'm ignorant but that means the Church doesn't control the government, and the government should not let the Church influence their decisions. This evidently has been bent as much as it can be these past few presidencies, but it's still there. Hell maybe it isn't even an amendment or written in the Constitution (I'm rusty on my US history...) but if it is, then we shouldn't let religious beliefs influence our decision making process.
