WWIII:
1-Do you think it's going to happen? Hopefully not.
2-If so, when do you think it's going to happen? 2040.
3-Which would the main causes be? Iran declares war on Western Ideals
4-Which forces would be involved? US, EU, and Iran
5-Would alliances exist?  Yes Which ones? The world versus Iran.
6-How long do you imagine this war could take? One week.
7-How would this war end? Iran Surrenders. Who would be the winners? US/EU

2-If so, when do you think it's going to happen? cant be sure. i would say soon.
3-Which would be the main causes?religion. well that would be the "reason" everyone will be given.
4-Which forces would be involved?US, russia, china, iran, korea, uk. probably more.
5-Would alliances exist?  Which ones?yes. us ad uk of course. china, korea, iran. russia is up in the air. they would have to be extremely careful. siberia has very rich deposits of all sorts of minerals. including oil that will make some country very rich. its been documented that china has eyed that for a long time, concerned about their population being to big for the amount of land they have. and of coursre diamonds and oil. so i really dont know what i would do if i were russia.
6-How long do you imagine this war could take? not sure. could be a month, could be a decade. all depends on how the battles are fought.
7-How would this war end?  Who would be the winners? i think nukes would end it unfortunatly.
dont know about winners. nukes pretty much negate any winning. we all know what will happen if someone launches nukes.........someone else launches nukes, and then everyone will do it.....god help us.

2-If so, when do you think it's going to happen? it's already began from the Balkans to Indonesia from the middle east to Africa & Europe & America - it's being waged..

4-Which forces would be involved? most of the worlds
5-Would alliances exist?  Which ones? hard to say at the minute
6-How long do you imagine this war could take? I dunno, till it is ended
7-How would this war end?  Who would be the winners? I think we all lose

1-Yes

2-Not so much a time as a set of conditions. Petroleum and water shortages that snowballs into massive lay-offs by companies who can't make payroll, deliveries etc etc. leading to food riots and govt retaliations excessive in 3rd world countries Central/South America, Africa, Asia and so on.

3-The causes are the conditions that determine the timing.

4-WWIII will be the first truly World class WW. All continents will have overt combat actions under way. Nukes will be used but sparingly. Chemical munitions will be used again localized and sparingly. Bio weapons will hit major urban areas of "christian" and secular countries causing massive death.

5-South American States allied with some split-interest US states vs USA, Africa will be bedlam - total chaotic mass murder and it will be the last country to settle at the end of WWIII. EU will have a civil war North and East vs South with UK fighting on the South. Middle East lol N Korea will go off on S.Korea and Japan and get slammed which my actually be the tinderbox to start the fall into WWIII. China will make a grab for weaker neighbors while "nobody is looking" Russia will be in an unstable position and wait to decide who to join but I expect a move South into Iraq may be on their agenda.

6-Main part will last 3 years but the peripheral actions in South America, Africa and East Asia will go on for anoth 2-3 years.

7-About 2 billion people will die. Most of the larger nations will be broken, corporations devastated but are the likely winners. WWIII may be the multinational supercorporations move to get the open trade laws world wide.

1. Yes
2. Soon, before 2020.
3. China becomes more expansionist and goes looking for more resources, form a barrier such as Japan tried to in WWII, they go after lands they claim they have the right to.
4. NATO, Mid East, China, Russia, Australia, Israel(so what if its part of the ME), Japan, South Korea, North Korea.
5. North Korea-China-Middle East-Argentina, NATO-Australian-Japan-South Korea-Israel, Russia would be a toss up, would pick the cause they could benefit the most from.
6. Depends, from weeks to months, wont be a clear cut victory, no fighting on home turf probably of the major nuclear powers because of the MAD theory.
7. The NATO-Australia-Japan-South Korea_Israel alliance would come out on top, Russia would probably be the deciding factor if they go full out or not. It could put a drain on the forces. Russia or China would have the oil in Siberia depending on what side Russia chooses and to what extent it fights, the Mid East would end up under Israels control though Israel would probably pull back after blowing the fuck out of everyone in the Mid East, governments for depending on beliefs across the Mid East, China would lose vast portions of its military in the same way that North Vietnam did.I doubt they would be wiped off the map because there would not be the ability for the allies to take over China while they have WMDs, it will probably end up in a government change over there into a shaky Capitalistic system until a revolution takes place and one side comes out on top.

Gonna edit this a little, Africa, Central and South America will get fucked up, Africa will be close to being killed off my AIDS by this time anyways, everyone else will probably be killed off in a massive "ethnic cleansing" except for South Africa which will do fine, South America will be full of terrorist organizations and drug lords who will have struck a deal considering that they are after the same goal, destruction of America and its allies and larger profits. Chances are that after the war in Asian and Easter Europe(if there is one in Eastern Europe, depends on which way the Russians lean) the EU will be forced to go through Africa and clean that up while the US and Canada goes to work in Central and South America and cleans that up. Long Bloody war, probably close to 800,000,000 people will get killed or wounded. Expect a battle of the fittest(which the countries most technologically advanced will win) limited usage of chemical, nuclear and thermonuclear weapons as first strike and defensive options, Mid East will get turned into a glass parking lot after they go all out on us with Biological weapons. If the general idea of Star Wars that was thought up by Reagan is put into effect to the extent that it would have the ability of stopping a full out missle attack then expect many less civilian casualties and a total of about 200-300 million people at the extreme maximum for the numbers killed.

My opinion:
1-Yes, without doubt.
2-It's about to start, if it didn't start already.
3-Ilamic Terrorist Nuking/Bombing/Poisoning a world power again.
4-Most of the World.
5-Yes, they will be very scattered among ideologies and needs for energy resources.  A world depression will cause strange bed partners looking to gain wealth and resources.
6-Hard to say, at least 50 years.  Cry-Ass liberals will not allow devestating strikes against the enemy. At least a generation growing up not knowing what Militant Islam is.
7-Israel will be ground zero for nukes and bio-weapons.  Terrorist will strike the nearest/easiest targets first. India and Europe will have their own 9-11s and America will quickly tighten security when it is struck hard again.  Saudi Arabia's royal family will lose control of the radical sunnis in their country, oil production will be crippled in the Middle East. 
It will end when Islam is cursed the same as Nazism throughout the world.  Farmers will be the winners.  They will provide the food and energy the world needs.

hey dont forget to put australia in. e have been in every modern war and we intend to keep that streak going

Not sure...a few years away but not too far away...could happen tomorrow for all I know.

Immediate, whatever is causing the current middle-east strife.  Historical, whatever caused WW1.

4-Which forces would be involved?
Northern Africa, EU, Middle East, USA, UK.  Likely: Australia/NZ, China, Russia, Korea (N&S), Japan.

5-Would alliances exist?  Which ones?
"Most of the whiteys, Japan, South Korea and assorted lackeys" and "Most of the not-whiteys plus maybe Russia"

Longer than 5 years.

Well you guys are family after all   My flatmate told me about that book...I couldn't help but think "Indonesia", but thats probably just the popular paranoia speaking.  Then again, all the ANZAC defense exercises I read about seem to be based around a poor populated country having a go at a sparsely populated, wealth country...actually if WW3 broke out along vaguely religious lines I think that would be a possibility.
