Let's call the TK'er a SPY/Saboteur for the OPFOR and therefore killing the turd not only an enjoyable deed but a requirement for an as yet hidden badge for . . . say . . . Military Police. Anyone who is TK'd can opt to respawn as an MP for only a few minutes, and only after a TK with the SPY's name flashing brightly pink on the MP's screen to make it easier to hunt the punk down. I like it. It's simple and doable. Everyone suggest it to EA for the next update. This can do away with the lame TK Punish button. If you want revenge you gotta work for it just like everything else.

- Military Police as Option for TK Punishment
all the business with MPs is too complex. however, along those lines, a good alternative to the current TK punish system is to make the TKer 'free game' to be killed by others on the team without penalty.
player 1 tks player 2.
player 2 hits 'accept punishment'.
player 1 shows up on all players radar on both teams as a tker.
player 1 gets blown the fuck up.
if you want it to be even more severe, once the tker enters 'free kill' status, even teammates will get points for killing him. this will encourage people to kill the tker, though i suspect people won't need this extra motivation.

It might end up penalising the accidental TK-ers as well.
For instance, I was helping my team take down a Cobra heli on Wake one night with my Stinger (yeah, the famous one where some jerk TK-ed me for it), and so I did nail the heli. The debris from the explosion must have killed someone on the ground, and I was named the guilty party to the teamkill. I got punished for it as well.
In this case, I sure wouldn't want to be someone's free-for-all. It is bad enough trying to help my team avoid getting wasted by an attack heli and got punished for it. I don't need to be cannon fodder after that as well just because some blind fool didnt use the brain he was born with and hit Page Down.
I'd vote no for this idea..

Maybe not for the first tk but for repeat offenders(3 or more during a set time period)...
Here's an idea - if you TK, you get locked up for a certain amount of time, say 10 seconds or so. The more you tk, the more you get locked up, increasing with each time you kill someone. The more you TK the longer you have to just sit there and think about what you've done! Even if you get mowed down by the enemy, you still have to serve out the rest of your time.
All Ideas are good the 1st one has real merit
No, no, no.
It's bad enough that we've got page-down whores, do we really need this?

TehSeraphim's idea isn't bad, but quite oftern, tk's arn't on purpose. so it would proberly be better if you only do that to repeat ofenders. But that would also be bad, if someone gets a full blackhawk by mistake..... Or has placed a lot of mines and someone drives a full apc over one.
There is no "accidental" tk. Guns do not misfire in this game.It might end up penalising the accidental TK-ers as well.
You pulled the trigger.
If you did not check to make sure there wasn't a friendly downrange to catch the bullet, its negligence.
It is still your fault.
If you are getting punished for accidental tk's, then you need to play with more caution.
You tk someone, it still costs your team a ticket.
um...what about the idiots who think about I think "I'll pick up a claymore while standing in front of it" or "Let me pick up a anti-tank mine with my APC" ?
Dracul, what? Sometimes, I'll fire from a blackhawk and accidentally hit someone I didn't see who was hiding from the guys I was shooting at; I'll lay an AT mine outside a noncap and someone will run over it (red x and all) rushing in; I'm antitank a lot and if I shoot at a tank from around the corner, I may not see the spec ops guy running to it and the explosion kills him. My bad.
But, looking at your stats?
Team: Kills, Damage, & Vehicle Damage 684 / 303 / 149
So shut your god damn mouth.

Well with my idea if you TK a full blackhawk, instead of losing like what, 6 players at 4 points a piece(?) points for it, you get frozen for like 30 seconds or 60 seconds. It's really not all that bad. Plus, if you "accidentally" TK enough to where you get into the range where you're spending some serious time frozen, maybe you're better off helping your team by not doing anything.
Seriously - they did this on BF1942 - the more you TKed, the longer your spawn time got until you eventually got kicked from the server. If you TKed a whole hell of a lot, you might have to wait about a minute everytime you died - when these games last as long as they do, you can spend a considerable amount of time thinking about what you've done.
It's pretty safe if you think about it. There are page down whores, but I doubt you're going to get that many accidental TKs IAR.

You are a fucking retard have you ever heard of mines?!dracul wrote:

Read the rest of my post. How am I supposed to "play with more caution" when some else gets killed for falling debris? Negligence? Far fetched under these circumstances.dracul wrote:

Or, the pilot teamkills the crew because someone kamikaze into the chopper?

Yeah fair point, maybe if you let the first tk slide, or "set" ie blackhawk or APC, then you get frozen so to speak for every one after that???TehSeraphim wrote:

maby it's a good idea but in wake island or other plane lvl's the noobs jump before your plane because you stole the plane and that is no fun and then they have exp or sommeting if they kill you and you will be a tk'er but they jump before your plane.
The thing here is choice. You can opt to blow it off or you can do something about it. There is no longer a TK Punishment button. But for those annoying little pricks who stupidly stand in front of you so you kill them, or shoot you in the back in a race toward a vehicle, or camp somewhere with a sniper rifle and shoot their own team for laughs this option gives you a chance to kick their butt. After the screen denotes, Johnny JerkOff TeamKiller was Executed enough times maybe he'll stop the bs.RugBurn007 wrote:

Or not. . . . The PageUp button works for a little satisfaction . . . very little.

The best in my opinion would be the freeze-up. If you're locked up for 2 minutes after killing 10 or so teammates, it gets pretty boring. However, it should be with the page up/down because of accidental TKs. And Dracul, YES, TKs happen accidentally. I fire off an AT rocket and splash damages a teammate next to the tank. Idiots run over your AT mines/claymores. You don't quite see the tag right and panic, shooting your gun off. You see an enemy vehicle, and bomb it, only to find that there were a couple friendly infantry there. Accidental TKs do happen, page down whores happen, but I feel the lockup is the best option.
One problem with the lock up, would it prevent you quiting the round/game. Casue if you started to get locked up, you could just leave the round and joing another server and you start playing again, free of the freeze ups. Have to make it so when you are "frozen" you can't do anything... even quit...
the tk system is fine if they punish u just go kill some more enemys to make up for it pain in the ass yes but there will alweys be some way to get u fucked even if u didnt mean 2
