I don't think thats what he was saying, or what he was trying to draw attention to. I think he was highlighting that people were dragged from their families and homes and "disappeared"; much like happened in Iraq under Saddam. And where was Gitmo brought up from? The first person to mention it is you in this last reply!!
And nowhere does he draw any sort of comparison with 'Old' Iraq and 'Modern' Argentina; as you say it
did all happen 30 years ago there and was still happening as recently as 5 years ago in Iraq.
