Unlock selection suggestions for BF2

I got the M95 at first. I was pretty unhappy with the large crosshairs, and so took the PKM next. Surprisingly, I found it better than the average sniper rifle in the way I used it (prone, killing enemies when I'm far enough to see them but not vice versa. Yes, I know, I'm cheap and a noob. Flame me later, not now). But I'm really annoyed by the non-existent accuracy of the PKM when not prone, as whenever someone is reasonably close (and I'm standing up), my shots go really wide.

Is there any in-between unlock with good, all-round accuracy, resonable damage and the ability to kill someone when standing?

EDIT: Is the L85A1 any good?

I'd honestly say the G36C would be the best unlock. Even though I love Assault.

Fav unlock is the F2000, 2nd tier Assault. Sicknasty gun imo.

I'd say the G36E, unless you mean a tier-one unlock.

But it's not like the AK-101 ain't damned good.

Unlocks are overrated. Although the L96 sniper rifle is a headshot machine and the PKM is a better alternative to the SAW.

i like the F2000 alot...MG36 wouldnt be a good choice if it was up to me...as i found out the hard way...i really hate it, although i like the rest of the G36 series.

depending on the user, all the guns are good though choosing a specific unlock over another will be dependant on ur frame rate, what you do in game.

PKM is a support weapon, rarely will u shoot it without proning or kneeling. Shoot it in spurts not spray and pray.

the g3 (assualt unlock) only has 20 bullets in a round but isincredibally accurate over shot to mid distances, ussually 3 shots will put them down, it also has the smoke grenade which is bloody handy when used correctly.

The Dao 12 is also a deadly weapon more over the short distances, its powerful and u have 12 bullets, so taking 4 or 5 guys out with it is not uncommon,

again; u must use ur brain and choose the wepaon best suited to the situation.

hope that helps with the info u have from the other guys on some of the other guns.

u coulda helped us to help you by telling us which unlocks you already had, perhaps even ur PID to peruse.

Ok, then. (Although i already said that i had the M95 and PKM), my PID is 78982255. I know, i suck, but enough people have told me that and it's rather unproductive, so don't tell me again.

The L85A1 actually has the worst single shot accuracy of any rifle. Even so, I still think it's the best 1st tier unlock. Even if it takes you a couple shots to even hit your target, with the scope you can at lest SEE your target which is quite the advantage. It also makes one of the best Squad Leader unlocks since you can use the scope like you would use binoculars and unlike a sniper you can rock and roll when the fight get's close.

Also the medic bag usually keeps you alive as a Squad Leader long enough for fallen squadmates to keep spawning on you, and you do still die another squad member can take your kit and revive you. Only Sniper and Support can compete as a Squad Leader since they both tend to stay a little away from the actual fight, therefore getting shot at less and so don't die. I give the advantage there to support since it can resupply anyone who lived through the engagement and the sniper is often to far away from the fight for people to respawn and get right back into it.

As for other options, the AK 101 is actually probably the best, and it's not even an unlock! Unfortunately, it does have the whole restricted to one army problem. The G3 can be good, but wouldn't fit the criteria you set down. It has the same problem as the PKM, can't hit crap while standing and only very rarely crouching.

If you have access to 2nd tier unlocks, then you're golden. The FN 2000 for assault is just an awesome all around weapon and the G36E for medic is a super M-16. Even though I continue to use thier 1st tier counter parts (the G3 just has massive style points, and I like the L85A1 as Squad Leader) these 2nd tiers fit what you asked for the best.

Dude, quick look at what stats u have, i would personally recommnend unlocking the spec ops gun.... brilliant gun, no recoil. At the moment ur still learning the game, you need to have confidence in killing people, this is a great gun for a learner.

The only reason people cry about others being noobs for using unlocks is because they play ladders like CAL and whatnot, and unlocks are not allowed on these sites. Which is why they dont use them so they wont get use to them and thereby not be as good with the standard weapons in thier matches.

Playing with stock guns is also good for "pubbers". It really helps you increasing your accuracy, like using the M16 instead of the G36e (you dont have to aim with that gun so you dont get good at aiming). Also, as ig said, people will respect you a lot more if you use the stock guns. And they're as good as unlocks, they just take more skill and pratice to use.

Lets say someone spent 50 hours getting good with the USMC medic gun. True he might be really good with it, but he would be alot better with the G36E if he spent 50 hours on that.

Negative. You don't need to play 50 hours with the M16 to get good with it, You just need to have a decent accuracy and you will become very accuracte with it. The G36e will become useless and you'll just start laughing at your old noob days , like me.

No, but I have a lot more respect for players who can own with the stocks. Using the G36e is too easy, any noob can get a decent accuracy with that gun.
