I'd say Jesus is pretty good with a guitar.
I own Jesus at Guitar.

I think some of the best guitar players origins from outside the US. (and a few inside)
my favorites are
Paul crook AKA metal loaf (lead guitar in meat loaf - see him live, and you're convinced)
Gary Moore (to blues what eminem is to rap)
Brian may (lead guitar in queen)
Franz beckerlee (lead guitar in a danish group called "gasolin" back in the 1970's - more skilled than Hendrix, but not very known outside Denmark. don't believe me - go listen for yourself!)

I'm going for JOHN FRUSCIANTE. Red hot chili peppers RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He should have taken the place of someone we dont know, like Yngvie Malmsteen or Alexi Laiho.-botivix- wrote:
Vai ftw!
Dimebag should be there.
I voted for Hammett
Also, the poll should have been named "who is your favorite guitarist?" Because they all played different styles of music, they are maybe the best in their style. Who knows what Hendrix would do if he was more metal, whatever.
are you shitting me? You dont know Malmsteen? But you know what a guitar looks like right? Just curious.
John Frusciante is a good guitarist, and don't get me wrong I'm a massive fan of the chili peppers, but he doesn't even compare with the guitarists being discussed here.Dawsonfattits wrote:

Saw Satch live in the late 80's (I think) when he was touring for the "Fkying In A Blue Dream" album and he was fantastic. Stu Hamm on bass (unbelievable what that man can do) and Jonathan Mover on drums. Absolutely amazing experience.
Someone mentioned Micheal Angelo Batio. This guy is awesome, just amazing how fast he plays.

Malmsteen rules them all

nope, Loomis and Broderick nuff said!
So many choices, but Vai takes it as far as I'm concerned. Kirk Hammett has to be at least in my top five, hello it's Metallica.
I dont know why Randy Rhoades wasn't on there.
When you're both ascending to heaven, and Jesus challenges you to a guitar duel, let him win then.Sl4y3r wrote:

Carlos Santana...
Frank Iero
no no no no no no. Most of these guys are excellent guitarists, but ffs, Malmsteen went home after school every day and practiced guitar in his basment. He was made fun of it, but now he can piss on those who made fun of him from such a height they think god himself has pissed on them.
Because no one can ever spell his name.w0ls0n wrote:

Saul Hudson (Slash) from G'n'R
