It looked IMHO Soviet enough
The gas piston (over the barrel) looked like a "kalashnikov ripoff" (which is weird, because this is not a Kalashnikov design), so I Googled myself a list of soviet aircraft mounted MG:s, finally resulting in a wikipedia find here and compared the pictures.
To my surprisement, google images + shkas = the same pictures Mariena posted.
