I love the fact that it is a single slot design. Also, that heatsink actually looks really good.

Looks crazy. Do those fans actually lift up, or is that just a weird diagram?

You can adjust it yourself so it cools other components aswell but I dont know if it works in SLI when the fans are raised. but works in SLI!

The heatsink looks like something out of a car engine, I like the style.

I must admit I love how the HD3870x2 looks Mine is identical to this one except with a Club3D sticker on the fan.

"... GDDR3 high-speed video memory, giving DirectX 10 gamers an extra boost in performance at no extra cost."

So it has DX10? I didn't think 9 series card had DX10..?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

There's no 10 series card. What did you think vista users were running Dx10 on, magic?

nVidia 7* - DX9
nVidia 8* - DX10
nVidia 9* - DX10
ATI X* - DX9
ATI 1X* - DX9
ATI 2X* - DX10
ATI 3* - DX10.1 (although what the adjustments are I don't know)

Hope that clears it up

In the link it said what I quoted, and I'm sure I heard 9 series cards didn't have DirectX 10, but according to Kyle, they do...

This has made me rethink my next card upgrade...

Looks very nice but i heard 9600Gt cause a lot of "blackscreens". They seem to have some kind of build error. On the other hand i heard EVGA's 9600Gts don't have such problems. Better to check reviews before purchasing one.

not cost effective anyway vs. the 88GT.

It's over £50 difference; frankly - if I find that card here in the UK for a decent price in comparison to the 8800GT I'd buy it over the 8800GT.

Something to do with OC cards being sold (memory oc).  Reg spec cards seem to be okay.  EVGA has apparently recognized the issue and is dealing with it - replacing the cards.

I wonder if we will see something like this in the US (referring to the 9600)
