Looks awesome. Not just good graphics, it's a joy to look at.
The G-man's reappearance is so well done.
Not a boring moment in it.
Many more great scenes

Hitman was overhyped enough to score a movie so I doubt you can use that double-standard.
Also something can only be overhyped if it's not deserving. Half-Life revolutionised gaming, it made characters people actually cared about and created a compelling, (although now kind of common,) storyline. The amount of thought that has gone into it is incredible especially when you once again compare it to something like Hitman, ("Okay, we're going to have a clone Hitman who's really really good.)
The gameplay of Half-Life is, I'll admit, a tad repeditive, Valve does constantly like to point out that they made a physics engine and the player never quite feels a part of the universe given the fact that he never speaks and his lower torso is nowhere to be seen when he's sitting in a car.
I don't think Half-Life can be said to be overhyped at all. It's not perfect but hey, what is?
Consider my opinions of Bioshock: I felt that although the environment, athmosphere and eco-system was pretty cool, the gameplay got stale and irritating at times and the story only had one or two cool parts along the way - the ending was just stupid. One molested slug-infested Little Sister and you were dubbed Hellspawn? Unfair I say!
Besides the point though, Bioshock was still an impressive game - I just didn't like it.

Whenever it comes to movies, TV shows, games, etc., your opinion is only valid if you are able to understand and appreciate every aspect of the media and can form on opinion based on that. You don't have to like half-life at all, you could just as well hate it, but your reasoning must make sense.
