It isn't.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

In the nineteenth century, the city of Amsterdam was known for carpet, textile, and pearl button manufacturing. It continued to be a center for carpet-making in the 20th century, when the Bigelow-Sanford and Mohawk Mills Carpet companies both were located in Amsterdam, but these companies have relocated to other regions. In the early 1980s, it was also the home of Coleco, makers of the ColecoVision, Cabbage Patch Kids and the Coleco Adam.

My town, East Windsor CT, executed Ben Franklin's brother by hanging for being a homosexual. Also, Nathan Bissell was born raised and died here. Google him if you aren't familiar with the Revolutionary war. Other than that we are a small town with no claim to fame. I beleive we have about a dozen traffic lights in town.

Amongst the many things that Vancouver is famous for is the next Winter Olympics in 2010. Come on up, it'll be a blast.

My specific suburb is most recently famous for a world-known pedophile. Additionally, it was better known before that man with three others: A famous Boston Bruin, a Colorado Rockie, and a professional racing driver, all amongst the best in their profession.

Gotta love Wiki:

It is well-known as a centre of England's woollen manufacture from the 15th century onward.

John the Baptists head is supposedly burried here.

Halifax Parish Church, parts of which go back to the 12th century, has always been dedicated to St John the Baptist. The church's first organist, in 1765, was William Herschel, who went on to discover the planet Uranus. (lulz)

Halifax was also notorious for the 'Halifax Gibbet', an early form of the guillotine used to execute criminals by decapitation, it was last used in 1650 .

Wainhouse Tower

An elaborate factory chimney or folly, built for a dye house that was never used, which dates from 1871. It was designed by Isaac Booth, and is now capped with an observation platform reached by an interior spiral staircase

Halifax Piece Hall

The cloth hall was where the trading of the woollen cloth pieces was done. Opened on January 1, 1779, it was only open for business for two hours on a Saturday morning, and contained 315 merchant trading rooms. After the mechanisation of the cloth industry, the Piece Hall was and continues to be used as a public market. The former Calderdale Industrial Museum (now closed) was housed within the Piece Hall. In winter 2006-07 the Piece Hall hosted an outdoor temporary ice rink.

Quite a lot of shit then.

The US for population, the world for beer.

Regarless I was off by a decimal. It's .008% of the US population.
