this is the map where 400 hours in armor suddenly doesn't seem that impossible. i agree with everything snake said... only problem i have is finding people willing to work together. i cant count how many times i watched someone drive off alone in a jeep with everyone spamming for a pickup. when you do get a good squad, stick with em, and you'll see why this map is fun.

I do. Very poor machine .Snake wrote:
Secondly, you must have a very very poor machine in that case.
A very large percentage of my deaths were due to this crappy computer. Whether it's because of the blur effect that comes on (which completely cripples the machine, meaning i can't aim and can hardly even move until it has gone completely. and it basically meant that i'm far more vulnerable to grenades than most people. a grenade comes anywhere near me, and i'm completely defenseless against the guy that threw it), the fact that on many maps (Jalalabad mostly. Its fine on most maps) when i zoom in with the sniper rifle, my fps drops like a stone, meaning i'm easy pickings for the guy i'm aiming at and so on. TV missles are very difficult to use because, once again, the black and white effect that comes on lowers the fps significantly.
But i still played over 680 hours of the game . I just think of it as having a crap guy to control. It just means that some maps are preferable to others.
I might try re-installing the game actually. It's a bit messed up at the moment (more than usual). If i try and start an offline game, i get an instant CTD, but I can play online ok. I think it had something to do with me making a mistake while making my own mini-mod. Must've copied something into the BF2 folder by accident and broken it.
Oh, another thing i remembered after i posted yesterday, half the time i was playing the beta, the other team had managed to get control of both jets, and airfields. It didn't help . I know that it wouldn't mean that they'd get 2 jets spawning if they were destroyed, but it did mean that they could both re-arm a lot faster depending on where they were.

That's why the Beta rocked, even if both teams just swapped airfields, and lost both planes and arty, twas bliss.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

pictures are louder than words, so here's 3 reasons to play it...
That last screenshot rocks
Yeah, there wasn't much armour support that round unless you were near us, but if you were.....FlemishHCmaniac wrote:

That guy at Check Point West thought it was his birthday when we rolled over the bridge to help

highway Tampa would have been an awesome map if there was helicopters

Lets keep the banter up
Tampa is STILL kickass, yes?

The map is bigger than Canada, with about the same amount of combat. It functions nicely as a tank driving simulator.
I haven't even tried it yet.....

Yay, 2 tanks just waiting for a huge clusterfuck kill from my plane.
Loved it haven't played it since beta though
I've started playing it again...fun harassing tanks with the F18
I love that map. 103 hours and counting.
No nublet, check the left top.N00bkilla55404 wrote:

I found highway tampa to be more interested as Bf2142, believe me, its better there
I went on 2142 for a blast the other night, only 5 populated servers and just over 100 total! Wtf?
Haven't played it much since I got AF and EF and my transport badge. But I love Tampa, for the following reasons:
1) Jeeps + tanks are everywhere, making it Jihad heaven.
2) Its big, so rounds last long
3) People actually use teamwork
4) Uncaps are empty in the later game making it easy to destroy assets and steal tanks
5) You can get in a transport chopper without being fragged in an instant by a TV missile
6) flags are far apart, meaning you seldom get forced into your uncap
7) The Gas Station flag. No single flag has given me more joy.

it sucks!!! IMO. Jihad jeep can be fun, but you can do that on most any map. I think it was a waste myself. Everyone wanted a Chinese city map, so they made an MEC dessert map. Thanks EA, roll eyes.
