Well, it was mentioned, but nobody really got started on it. I have an entire setup I'd like to put in the polls section of Everything Else (or here) and let people vote on it. I'm willling to run it the way FFLink13 has the user battle setup, with each topic getting it's own poll.

To get started, I need to know some nominees for games. I'll put 30-35 games total in and they'll be broken into 15 topics for best ____.

Post your top 5 favorite games of the year and I'll tally the vote and break them down into different topics.

Topics will be:

Best Game of the Year
Best PC Game of the Year
Best Console Game of the Year
Best Military Game
Best Soundtrack
Most re-playable
Best Multiplayer
Best Voice Acting (Male)
Best Voice Acting (Female)
Best First Person Shooter
Best Graphics
Most frustrating game
Most groundbreaking game/enhanced technology
Most realistic game
Most intense game

Keep these in mind while voting.

IN ADDITION: DO NOT COUNT THE ORANGE BOX AS ONE GAME. ALL OF THE GAMES WILL BE CONSIDERED SEPERATE. Also, these are games of 2007. Do not add HL2, BF2, HL2 Ep 1, etc into your choices.

Nominations will end January 2nd, 10 PM EST. I'll have the specific topics put into different threads when voting comes.

There are like 15 different games that could fit into those categories... asking everyones top 5 and then dishing them out to fill up categories isnt going to work too well...

Best soundtrack? Halo 3.
Best military shooter? CoD4.
Best console game? Best voice acting? Most groundbreaking? Mass Effect.

I'm going to break them down, but suggestions to which game goes to which topic helps a lot.

The tally is to figure out which games get nominated for game of the year.

I'm gunna put in some votes for CoD4, Crysis (just because of the stunning graphics), WiC, Halo 3, and TF2. I haven't played TF2, but it looks fun.

Fail. Orange Box should count as one game, since the 5 games come in one box, and all the major sites and magazines voted it as one game.

So my vote is:

1-Orange Box (sorry, but it counts as one game, you don't split Mario Party into 40 games)
2-Cod4
3-Crysis
4-Bioshock
5-World in Conflict

But it's 5 games in one. Exactly. Mario Party is different, you can't buy those games separately.

Half Life 2 and Half Life 2 Episode 1 were all separate. TOB is basically just a bundle. You could have loved Portal but hate TF2, making it odd to choose TOB as the best game of the year.

And in addition, GameInformer did have TOB as one game but in the game of the year voting, their staff would also pick Portal or Ep 2.
