Calculate your BMI

* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women.

BMI isn't much though. Muscle weighs more than Fat so a healthy/muscular person will get skewed results.

BMI is pretty useless, it doesnt take into account how much is muscle n how much is fat. Muscle ways more than fat

The BMI is bullshit.  That is why most of the USAF has abandoned it for their own version.

I am 6'9 and 310 lbs.  I have a gut I will admit, but I am by no means obese.  According to the BMI I am supposed to weigh 200lbs to be normal weight.

Now you tell me what a 6'9 tall guy who weighs 200lbs will look like.  It would not look healthy.  When I graduated from basic training 5 years ago I was an inch shorter and weighed 240 and I looked like a goddamned holocaust survivor.  Now this stupid chart says I have to lose 110lbs or else I'm obese?

Yeah, no.

BMI doesn't accurately calculate "fat." It's based purely on weight and height alone. For atheletes (Excluding cyber atheletes ) this is the worst possible way to quantitate your health.

However, for the majority of the population that isn't actively pursuing physical fitness.. this statistic is accurate.

For the sake of proving my point, let's take one of the most ripped NFL linebackers: Ray Lewis: 6'-1" 250lbs = 33 BMI. Or Ronnie Coleman: 5'-11" 330lbs = 46.0 BMI (ZOMG). According to this they are both obese! Not accurate for atheletes, quite accurate for the average joe and the couch potatoe.

I scored a 27.1.

I go to the gym 4-5 times a week though, so I'd say its not very accurate

6'0" and 9½ stone myself. Underweight by that measure - known it for ages; don't care.

This isn't accurate. It doesn't take into it's calculations your muscle mass.

And mine is 23, btw.

Between 23 and 25, depending on what numbers I put in, since I don't know my exact lenght/weight.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
