ok. looks like a hoax, but it will come soon.

In a thread a bit back Chuyskywalker made a thread about a new military mod called the "Insurgency Mod" that will be out this month. "rumours say 31th"

This was IMO a very attractive mod with possibly a lot of new players turning to this. And since this mod can be compared to BF2, my question is if you are going to be playing this.

This mod looks really cool but having never played any mod'ed PC games before, I have a couple questions I hope someone will answer.

Will you have to pay to purchase this game? If so, how much?

These points won't go towards your global score, will they?

Will installing this mod mess up vanilla BF2?

This is a mod for the source engine, not BF2, and no, you don't have to pay for mods.

Well, maybe I should tell you that this mod has nothing to do with BF2 in that way. It is made by someone with use of Source engine, therefor you need to have HL2 and Steam installed for ths to be played. And its free!!

My point is Bf2 has vehicles, IO is a game mode for Bf2, infantry is the only mode for insurgency.

Yeah, I know but it is still a crappy comment since these two games can be pushed so much together.

Then why compare Project reality with BF2, since it lacks so much of reality compared to PR.

Yeah thanks for the crappy comment remark, it stopped amazing me people on here can't have a normal conversation a year ago.

Anyway...

Vehicles are a major part of Bf2, the ability to use vehicles and run around as infantry is what made Bf2 so big. PR also has vehicles like Bf2, and is made from the Bf2 engine.

The mod doesn't have vehicles, it's infantry...

Not that i'm saying it's bad.

Well, it looks like you only need to have source and then a program called SDK base. It can be found in your steam account under tools and then you just need to install it.
