I agree to a point - read some of the old testament, there are very barbaric writings. Archaic writings do exist in both the Bible and the Koran, but people do not define the Bible by those sentences. So why do people feel the need to define Islam by those writings? There are also very peaceful writings in the Koran (imagine that!).
Yes, Arab culture in general is very male-dominated, much like Christianity. Yes, there are violent factions in Islam. That does NOT mean that all Muslims are violent, all Muslims want to convert everyone, or all Muslims are hateful.
His post is not correct, because generalizing a whole group of people based on the most boisterous/violent/radical factions is (in my opinion) ignorant. Also, I can tell with 100% certainty that he has not read the Koran, just found parts that will support his argument. If I quote docile, peaceful scripture, does that mean that ALL Islam/Muslims believe in that?
