OK so i'm using my I-Pod headphones right now cause I've just got rid of another PC headset after it went all shitty on me. I seem to go through a headset a year anyone got any reccommendations for a longer lasting one? or does this sound like a normal rate to go through them at?

I have Icemats and they are wonderful, but from what I've read they don't hold up to a lot of abuse. Do you drop your headsets a lot?

Yes sounds good actually compared to me, these force feedback ones I got for christmas work great & have made it to may which is a record for me. A CD with a saturn ring around it is on the side but I have no idea of the brand name. They had flashing lights on the side but they burned out after the first day thank god.

ewww, never knew it's that easy to disagree. At least provide some type of evidence to back up what you are saying. Can't understand this type of people really...

Ok, I had those headphones, now I have Icemats, and they kick the logitech headset's ass. The logitech is not a good quality headset if you are looking for something nice and not something cheap. It is a good sub $30 headset though.

I use a pair of Altec Lansing and they have a really great sound.
Nice and sturdy, well made. The company make audio equipment, not gaming products.
They start to hurt after about 10 hours.

I take a different approach, my headset history hasnt gone too well so i steal my studios Sennheisers (AWESOME headphones) and just put a mic onthe table and use that. Works perfect.

Tritton AX360 True 5.1 Digital Audio Gaming Headphones - Dolby Certified

- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications … ;NoMapp=0#

If you're wanting to go all out then I would suggest using these. Having true 5.1 surround sound (That is Dolby Digital and Prologic certified) in a pair of headphones really does make a massive difference in what you're able to hear, especially if you have a sound card supports digital or fiber optic sound. Plus they carry the rumble effect which is a very nice feature (Basically when the bass frequency in a game/movie is too low for the human ear to detect then you get a rumble/small vibration effect). They are very comfortable, durable, and they compact quite small for easy storage. A bit pricey but well worth the investment... plus I think there's a $30 rebate with them. I've gone through quite a few pairs of headphones and nothing I've ever used have ever come close to the sound quality you get with these things.

I use Icemat Siberia Black Headset with the USB sound card.

http://www.icemat.com/products/icematsi … sb_headset

They are fairly expensive around $70 dollars or so, but they are very good quality of sound and are extremely comfortable. Other people will tell you that they have tried "comfortable" headsets, but you haven't felt anything until you try these on. You'll never want to go back to any other headset. These are much lighter and feel softer on your head then any other headset I've ever felt.

On the negative side, they are slightly large and ultra tough, so you cant exactly throw them across the room when you get mad, but other than that they will stand up very nicely to normal wear and tear. Also the USB seems to make a difference, but its not huge enough to really need, but it is a nice extra if you have a little more cash.

I've had mine for just over a year and a half and have had no problems with them at all. It was a very worthwhile
investment.

however, they are sort of exclusively sold and are not available everywhere. The best place to be able to find and get them in Comp USA-  http://www.compusa.com/products/product … _Soundcard

EDIT: spelling
