ROFL! It won't fail!

Anyway I'm really looking forward to it. I love ArmA II warfare multiplayer, but I'm so sick of the 'receiving' then nothing happens "bug".

He has a point. Although, Arma II failed less than I and I was only released a couple of years ago, whereas Operation Flashpoint developers have had a really long time to improve since OF and OF was amazing, so it's looking up rather than down.

A lot of games were amazing back then. I dont remember buying many if any games back in the late 90's early 00's that I regret, can't say the same about today though. We'll see what happens. Hope its a good game.

if they dont want this game to fail they cant make it a sim like arma, they've gotta make it arcadey enough to satisfy the fast pace people and realistic enough to satisfy the people who want their games to be like the real thing. If they don't find that fine line in the middle it's going to fail.

Problem with Arma is that BIS lacked Codemasters' experience and rushed their development and release. They also tried to replicate OFP too much to the point that it was basically the same thing over and over, mechanics and effects included.

The ArmA II engine is a piece of trash, things don't feel like they're really there. Thing don't act heavy, you don't "Feel" the stuff.

It's like the BF2/2142 engine vs COD. In COD it's like when you shot something, you really hit it and you can tell.

OPF-DR is not going to fail, it's got the amazing EGO engine, Brothers in Arms type easy to issue orders, fast reacting, effective AI (well according to what I've heard in reviews, previews and in videos I've seen). ArmA II is a great game, but mostly on for it's Warfare MP, it's not worth much else.

Speaking of which does anybody know why I get "Receiving" in ArmA II MP Warfare every now and then? Then it will do that and sometimes just repeat itself and I can't play.

OPF-DR has a strong community, great developers, and an amazing engine. What's there to fail?

I forgot to post this, but here are the two mission that you will unlock with the two codes I posted a few pages back.

Encampment

Controlling a Spec Ops team, this FTE tasks players with ambushing a PLA campsite in the dead of night.

Set in a heavily forested area, players must move cautiously between tree cover, with the PLA fanning out and trying to flank at every opportunity. A fierce and atmospheric firefight, mixing long-range marksmen shooting and close quarters combat around the campsites.

Debris Field

Set amongst the vehicle wrecks from an earlier battle players must lead their fireteam through the strewn vehicle wreckage, seeking cover wherever they can, and engage superior numbers of PLA forces assaulting their position.

The player must work with their fireteam to ensure that the large numbers of PLA don’t flank them at any time, stay mobile and use fully automatic weapons, grenades and grenade launchers to suppress the enemy at every opportunity.

Bohemia Interactive, the developers of ARMA, are the original OPF devs.

Codemasters retained the name after a publishing dispute.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

This ^

While ARMA and ARMA II are essentially upgrades of the original OFP engine, mechanics etc, OFP2 is completely new and built from the ground.

And made by Codemasters.

So if anything at least rallying around in the hummers/jeeps/buggies etc should be epic.

You sound worse then specialist dragging on bf2. You should probably just be quiet, and not play this game.
