Can someone please rate my rig, I'm not good with technical stuff. Basically it's supposidly the best you could buy 4 years ago so I'm not expecting it to be very good. I may upgrade it for Xmas but first i want to know how good it is (1-10 maybe) and what I should upgrade.

Manufacturer: Dell Computer Corporation
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz
Memory: 510MB RAM
Hard Drive: 79 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor
Sound Card: SoundMAX Digital Audio
Speakers/Headphones:
Keyboard: USB Root Hub
Mouse: USB Root Hub
Mouse Surface:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519)

I did have a near identical system with that dreaded card and I can tell you it strugled to run on all low most of the time.  I put a x1300 in for £30 (back in august) and got all medium which I was happy enough with to tide me over till new system arrives.

Okay, I'm seriously considering buying a new system, but I just can't keep up on the technology anymore.  Here are the specs for the one I am looking at, so give me an honest answer for what you think, I don't want to spend much more than this one costs!

CPU: (Socket AM2) AMD Athlon™64 X2 4200+ Dual-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology
MEMORY: (Req.DDR2 MainBoard)2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory
VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS 256MB PCI Express x16 Video Card
VIDEO CARD 2: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS 256MB PCI Express x16 Video Card
HARD DRIVE: Single Hard Drive (250GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 8MB Cache 7200RPM HDD)

Let me know so I can get it as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance!

I notice you have 2 36GB raptors in RAID. Are they any good? Do things load much faster compared to a single 7200rpm drive? Is it worth the ~$340 ($AU) to set it up?

- Nice CPU
- Same motherboard, prwanage!! (yes, it's a prwanage!! board)
- Overkill
- You mean 74K, and just because you RAID0'd them doesn't mean they run at 20000RPM - LOL
- Nice storage
- Should of waited for X2900XTX if you have that sort of cash
- Good PSU
- What's the case WC like?
