Hmmm. . . . . You FEEL huh. . . ."We FEEL its and investment in education"

I just wonder how much that would cost the state?? I mean there are so many different IPODS, which one would be appropriate for our children (sarcasm)?  Its our kids, we should spare no expense right??

Silly liberals. . . .Stick to what your good at!! Undermining our military and its commanders in a combat zone.  Not too mention taking our money and redistributing it without any checks and balances to see if the money gets well spent. Because in all honestly, spending our money with no recourse just FEELS right doesnt it guys. . . .

This kind of a response would only be triggered by a liberal knowing they're pyscho crap just got called out in a Detroit editorial. . . .lol

And no I wouldnt want every kid "pre-loaded" with right wing rhetoric. . . . I would want them to be RATIONAL, INTELLEGENT, and able to THINK based on facts as opposed to react only how they "feel" at the time etc.

My God, for once I'm stumped!  Some right-wing bigot writes a misleading editorial with absolutely no references other than his own (I'm sure perfect) perception of events, and I just have nothing to say about it.  Faded does have a point though, instead of Ipods for our own kids, we need to keep dumping billions of foreign aid on Israel, losing TRILLIONS without a trace into the Pentagon, and bailing out those poor rich people that make bad investment decisions to the tune of hundreds of millions a year.  And gosh darnit, if KBR says we don't need to have a competition for their contracts, then they MUST be the best deal...hell, the few billion we've spent to throw up a prison or three in nearly every southwestern town must be well worth it.  When those get filled up, maybe we can just take the prisoners' Ipods away and give them to the Michigan kids, though I think there might be some overlap in that policy.

Yep, those silly Democrats that have been in control for the last 6 years sure have spent this country into oblivion...maxed out the ol' national credit card so to speak...oh wait, you say Republicans were in charge?  Fuck.

And no I wouldnt want every kid "pre-loaded" with right wing rhetoric. . . . I would want them to be RATIONAL, INTELLEGENT, and able to THINK based on facts as opposed to react only how they "feel" at the time etc.
Make up your mind man, you want them to be conservative or not?  Regardless of what the expert Rush told you, its actually the other way around.  We liberals like to be nice and pat you guys on the head when you say completely retarded things, but I'll not let that one slide this time.  Conservatives, in the authoritarian sense, don't have rationality, they have "faith" and "feelings", they follow leaders without question, facts are not an issue.  Liberals, harboring by and large the majority of our scientists, philosophers, and inventors throughout history prefer logic and facts, tempered by humanism.

UON you need to seek professional help man... We conservatives deffinatly don't want to fill the minds of younger generations with right winged psyco-babble, or any propaganda. We teach them right from wrong, and let them make up there own minds.

Meanwhile back to the topic... taxes for iPods, I sure hope the citizens of MI call out to their representatives and knocks that shite out of the legislation. FFS!

I just love how a liberal tries to derail the thread by bring up Iraq/war on terror spending, or the top 1% get all the breaks, Israel etc. etc. etc.

Your golden boy Clinton cut military spending (which has had a direct effect on intellegence gathering and overall troop strength. Why do you think we have had to spend so much?), raised taxes to the highest levels EVER, and struck a meaningless deal between terrorist Arafat and the Israeli's. . . .

But we arent talking about that here on this thread. . . we are talking about wacko liberals trying to spend money that isnt theirs based on the fact they "feel" thats the way to go. . . .regardless if its the CORRECT way to "steer the ship". . . .

BTW I dont listen to Rush Limbaugh . . .so sorry you fail on labeling me! Not too mention I am not religious nor do I base my morality on religious doctrine. . .i.e. I am pro-choice not pro-life etc.

Acting based on faith is just as bad as acting soley on feelings. . . .

They "feel" too much. That's part of the problem. Guy rapes a 9 year old girl..........hey, it's "inhumane" to lock him up in prison. It will hurt his feelings. Clinton gets a blowjob and lies directly to the world on TV....hey, let's leave him alone. Don't want to hurt his feelings by impeaching him. Got a lot of people on welfare in your city? Lets give them more food stamps........making them get off their asses and work will hurt their feelings. Got terrorists attacking your country? Lets hold hands and try to talk to them........maybe we can make them learn to love us........don't want to hurt their feelings by dropping bombs on them. Friggin liberals. Ok, i'm done........start flaming me.

I'm trying to find this one and I can't anywhere, can you at least give me a decade or state maybe?  To answer the premise though, I don't think anybody in their right mind would advocate not locking up someone convicted legally in our system of rape.  Personally though, I do like the idea of a reduced sentence for inmates that voluntarily get castrated.

Clinton gets a blowjob and lies directly to the world on TV....hey, let's leave him alone.
No shit, its his sex life and marriage, he was being harrassed by a (very expensive) smear campaign nearly the entire time he was in office.  Not that he was an angel or I agreed with him on his formation of police state policies (you could say Clinton loaded the gun and Cheney pulled the trigger).  But jesus christ, if you had a wife like Hillary, wouldn't you be trying to get an odd BJ when you could?

Got a lot of people on welfare in your city? Lets give them more food stamps........making them get off their asses and work will hurt their feelings.
Yeah, its too bad all their jobs went overseas or down below a while ago...gotta cut those costs, Wal-mart can only give 20 hours a week to so many people...so lets let them get more desperate, end up in jail for more stupid stuff, and then get rented out as labor while the taxpayer picks up the prison tab...one big happy cycle of Republican money

Got terrorists attacking your country? Lets hold hands and try to talk to them........maybe we can make them learn to love us........don't want to hurt their feelings by dropping bombs on them.
Nothing to do with their feelings, just stopping to ask a few questions about exactly what the goals are before we start massacring little brown people.  You want to talk "feelings", talk about "oooh blood revenge!", we still have soldiers in Iraq thinking they're fighting about 9/11.  Those pesky cold, hard facts can't get in the way of our bloodlust can it?  Where's Osama, by the way?...I'm worried about his feelings.

I'm getting a headache from countering talking points, those propagandists did a damn fine job.  I wish there was some sort of mass DE-programming like there is mass programming via talk radio and Fox News.  I think I'll be stuck doing it individually, and research I'm doing is saying its hopeless.  Its like trying to help a Down's Syndrome kid by convincing him to raise his IQ.

Trust me, you'll be a lot happier if you spend less time trying to deprogram them and more time mocking the ridiculous nature of their statements. ie. "liberals always go with their feelings" spoken by people who screamed for revenge after 9/11, think abstinance-only sex ed will prevent prengancy and STDs, think "intelligent design" should be taught in school science classes and believe saying "Happy Holidays" is a declaration of war. The best you can do is give some fence-sitter a good laugh and make them think at the same time. You're never going to "prove" anything to the conservative faithful; usually that requires life giving them a good and thorough ass-kicking. Kinda like how a junkie usually has to hit rock bottom before they realize they need help.

First, I'm American you jackass...second you really need to check the date on your source, sounds like 10 years ago or so.  A business license will run you about $100 in legal fees (every expat here I know is his own "company"), unemployment in Bucharest is hovering at a whopping 0.4%, taxes are roughly the same here as the US, but the US taxes me too so for foreigners its a bit higher.

You would seriously be shocked at how well you can come here and live the American dream...it really is total capitalistic freedom.  3 years ago I rolled in here after getting out of the army (and messing about in Israel) and said "Gee, I think I should be a game designer."  Now I got 4 games to my credit, my own crew, 2 studios (Kiev opens later this month), nice house, beautiful wife, nice kid (that only cost $400 to have, LOL...gotta love universal healthcare with private supplements).  I started with NOTHING 3 years ago.  The city is dirty, but I eat good and I can travel, what more could you ask for?

Try being a game designer at an american studio...prepare to wait in line a while.

Errr not too sure you should have posted that, seeing how your one of the biggest posters here - http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=68750

Which of course is a British Problem, so by your reasoning you shouldn't be posting in it.

Edit : no offence meant but you can't have it both ways and this is the debate section.

Perhaps a better title would have read, "Democrats at it again...read the article!"

What they do is no representative for all liberals, or even the majority of us. Even their political leanings I find more right than our Liberal (centre-left) Party at times.

Actually the majority of the threads lately seem to be attacking both. It's extremely boring for the moderates that find themselves on both sides of the aisle at times. I'd rather debate a persons personal view per each situation rather than generalizations and labels.

I personally say that's a waste of taxpayer's money. That money can go to improving the schools the kids go to, improve the test scores, make programs so kids won't become as obese as people are today, and a bunch of other things that should be on a priority list instead of iPods.

*Note: I know nothing about the school systems in Michigan. I just stated some things that all schools can do better in.

i really don't see the idea in buying them ipods, what the heck should they use them for, they can't really be used for a proper educational purpose. their features ain't that good anyway and they cost way to much compared to what you get. total waste of good money.
