A trailer for GTA IV will be released in approximately 27 days, 22 hours, 40 minutes and 20 seconds from the time of this post. An e-mail was sent to Rockstar list subscribers today and there is now an official countdown board which can be found here:

Its going to be a hype generator for sure. Probably just pre rendered cg stuff. Hopefully it will drop hints as to the setting of the game.

GTA4 will be released in the USA on October 16th 2007, and in Europe on October 19th 2007.
It will be simultaneously available for PlayStation®3 and Xbox360TM
The Xbox360TM version will feature two exclusive downloadable packs - the result of a "strategic alliance" between Microsoft and Rockstar Games.
The game will be developed on a new engine which is different to the one used in GTA3/GTA: Vice City/GTA:San Andreas.

I BET! it will be in the future because Vice City, San Andreas and Liberty City were ALL in GTA (The first one) So i recon that number Four will take after GTA II so it will be futuristic

Maybe they hoped that they whud get giving rights to GTA or maybe they just want to make a good game for once

But Rockstar games is using that engine they used for their table tennis game
