Metal, Emo, Punk, Indie, Alternative, Goth, Rock....things of that nature. Stuff like Slipknot, Thrice, The Used, Snow Patrol, Blue October, Blink 182, AFI, shit like that.
Too bad what you stated is emo isn't.Trivium wrote:

Emo consists of Hawthorne Heights, Fall Out Boy, The Used, My Chemical Romance and the like. Despite what some people think...they are. "Cut my wrists and black my eyes." that's as emo as you can get. Metal consits of Slipknot, The Black Dahlia Murder, Lamb of God, Dragonforce, Kamelot and Metallica.
How the hell is Emo vs Metal even a question?
Figuring UnderOath is a religious band I wouldn't call them emo. Their definatly hardcore screaming, but that doesn't mean emo.11sog_raider wrote:

Were you being sarcastic? Did you even listen to the song I stated to be emo? In it he says "So cut my wrists and black my eyes, so i can fall asleep tonight." If that isn't emo, than wtf is?Fuzzball_the_Shooter wrote:

Metal and Emo are incredibly similar beasts. The only difference is that Emos act misreable and depressed, while Metalheads think they're cool while they do it.

It was emo, but Hawthorne Heights kicks ass and the gut-wrentching screaming that he showed for the second song is terrible.Fuzzball_the_Shooter wrote:

Well, I like screaming, what I don't like is the (as stated above) gut wrenching Death Screaming like Napalm Death. If all older metal death is like that then yes, I don't like older metal bands.Trivium wrote:

Emo, only cuz it's not a bunch of screaming.
Well, some is, but metal is just too heavy for me.
I don't even recognize that some songs are emo unless I really listen to the lyrics, which I hardly do.
