Expansion pack to the Elder Scrolls IV will be coming out this spring, all those players who have played Elders Scrolls iv oblivion will be intrigued to find out that the expansion is on the way. Anyone planning to get the game when it comes out?

"article"

The first official expansion pack is on its way for the hugely popular The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, report British gaming magazines PC Gamer and PC Zone. The title has already spawned one add-on big enough to be sold on its own in The Knights of the Nine.

Titled The Shivering Isles, the first full Oblivion expansion will add a whole new land to explore. The Isles, which are also known as the Realm of Madness, will be divided into a northern area (Mania) and a Southern area (Dementia). A town called Split on the Mania-Dementia border has two of every citizen, and one of the quests will be to solve this doppelganger mystery.

The Shivering Isles are reachable through a door set in a strange statue and located on a small island that appears in the water in Niben Bay near Bravil. Players will be able to move between Cyrodiil--the realm of the original Oblivion--and the Shivering Isles freely.

The expansion will contain more than 30 hours of new gameplay with branching quest storylines, and the landscape itself will change according to the decisions players make during their adventures. There will also be new creatures, dungeons, and quests. Two of the new monsters include a Gatekeeper, a golem-style creature made up of stitched together body parts, and the Knights of the Order, which are made from tree roots.

not sure, what happened to knight of the nine if it was released or not but I know oblivion received very good rating score, so the expansion should be good too hopefully.

It was released. You can dl it or buy it in the shops. The shop version incluedes all of the mods they have made at a discount compared to buying them all online.

PC version FTW. Player created mods add tons of new content and hours of more quests.

IMO KoTN was good and I will be eagerly awaiting the Shivering Isles.

Just bought the Downloadable content. So far its been good and well presented. Not like a cheaply put together addon or something. Im looking forward to this expansion.

Cool... I just got Oblivion myself. The Knights of Nine isn't bad. Doesn't add all that much though from what I know of the game.

I'll buy Oblivion when all its expansion packs are finalized into one product, as happened with ESIII.

Well i just finished the Nights of the Nine story. Have to say it was pretty cool. Similar to the main story line but a bit shorter.

I did all the guilds (and the main quest of course ) and got bored so i downloaded KotN. Its a fairly solid offering, and the cuirass is equal\better than daedric w00t but you have to have less than 2 infamy points to use. I can't wait til Shivering Isles comes out, another 30hrs to add to my 55 . Looks set to kick ass!

I've thoroughly gone through oblivion, my main character is the leader of all four main guilds, level 37, and I have three sets of armor which in turn make me fully invisible, immune to physical damage, and immune to magical damage. In other words, I've played it a LOT more than I should. And in doing so the game's become bland, even these quests don't do much for it. KOTN was nice, but not really impressive. Only standing on top of the clouds looking out over everything in cyrodiil was new. And the crusaders armor really doesnt live up to its name..

I'm hoping that shivering isles will be a bit more rewarding and interesting, but it doesnt really matter as I dont have to pay for it anyway

I like my Morrowind GotY Edition better than ES4 vanilla. Lots more to do.

**Spoiler warning**

Been there done that. Came to the point that at the end of the game where you have to protect the king, I left him where he was and went running for Mehrunes Dagon himself. My megalomanic attitude came at an end when I discovered that the big red thing blocking my way was his foot. At this point I humbly returned to the real goal of the main quest.

Had a lot of fun until level 30 something at time there were no real threats anymore.

Cheers,
