A, he is actually the big bad wolf. He blows the brick wall down and then sees the hats of other people. Simple.

you didnt say that he couldnt save them nor that he didnt posses a hat.
i dont think he would go thru the troublem of burying them and buildinga  brick wall infront of one of them just to save them after....
i dont care you shouldve said that he wasnt a mentaly deranged luni that just liked giving people hats when they are up to there necks in sand. its not as if you were there.

C has a 2/3 chance of getting it right
A has 1/2 cahnce
B has 1/2 chance
D has 1/2 chance

therefore C should do the guessing

unless D can see that B has a green hat and C has a green hat and your picture is infact wrong, then D should guess.

ANSWER - C calls out that his hat is black.

* C is certain his hat is black because D has said nothing. If both hats in front of D were white he'd have said his hat was black. If both hats in front of D were black he'd have said his hat was white.

Because D has said nothing C knows that he and B are wearing different coloured hats. He can see that B is wearing a white hat so C knows that his hat is black.

Way to copy the answer from another site. The hats here aren't black & white.

Yeah, C for reasons stated above. However, this riddle works better if you tell it from the point of view that YOU are C. Thus: YOU are buried with your head sticking out of the sand, one of your friends is in front of you wearing a green hat, you know one of your friends is behind you, and you know your last friend is behind the brick wall. Which colour hat are you wearing?

To the OP... I am guessing that you forgot to say something VERY important. You didn't say that the 4 people knew that there were only TWO colors. You also failed to say that A,B,C and D knew there were 2 red and 2 green hats, even though it was shown in the pic. How did A,B,C,D not know that there may have been 3 green and 1 red for example. With this vital info left out the puzzle has no solution. Sorry. You fail.

Meh. Too late. And you don't have to be like that do you? It's just a bit of fun. Gawd. Some people...
Anyway, out of karma now for the ones who took part

It's definentaly A because no where in the question does it state that A does not have X-ray vision and can therefore see the others' hats.

the reason i said A, was when the other three people guessed, and got it either right or wrong, A would know what was left.
