- What makes you proud to be from your country?
I'm English and I'm proud that we once owned (colonized) about a third of the land on this planet. I'm also proud of the fact that we gave Calais back to the French - it's a terrible place!
Our Prime Minister..
I'm proud of the fact that our tiny island nation won back our freedom from what was then the biggest and most powerful empire on earth, through blood, sweat, tears, determination and perseverence.
I'm proud of our deep history and ancient cultural heritage, identity and language.
I'm proud of the fact that our constitution declares that the Republic of Ireland is a neutral country.
I'm proud of the hospitality we show visitors and are rightly famous for.
I'm proud of our joie de vivre - fun and enjoyment above work ALWAYS.
I'm proud of our ability to embibe what would ordinarily be life threatening amounts of alcohol and still not fall over!
I'm proud of how generous and charitable the people of Ireland are.

Hmmmm, England is a toughy...... I am proud to be English, but I'm not sure why! We do have many bad points. I hate the fact that our Prime Minister is being ass raped by Bush so that we would do anything for that twat.
Though we did steal other people languages and produce one of the fourth most used languages (English, Russian, German and French).
Our contibution to the advancement of the human race is undeniable, but at the same time we "colanised" many civilaisations and culture that would be better off without our interferrence (South Africa, many African countries and India)
Hmmm, Britain seems to be the first for many things as in we do not get them well developed, but start the ball rolling (Lightbulb, telecommunications and many war machines)
Our economy isn't the worst in the world, but it is by far not the worst, our crime isn;t super high, but neither is it super low.
Maybe it's just the British spirit and the occastional spurt of British enginuity and brilliance.
NOW IF WE CAN ONLY KILL ALL CHAVS!

Actually I think we have one of the best economies in the world. I have to study an Economics module at uni (not my choice I absolutely hate it) and there are some economic messes out there. Take America for example parts of their economy is a complete farce. E.g. the distributuon of wealth is an absoulte shambles. But I guess this is down to the sheer size of the USA.ShowMeTheMonkey wrote:

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
Jello, Cosby, Shanana. In that order.
I'm proud to be an American, well, freedom I guess though most people that for granted.

Yeah your country is so great, your best option after leaving school is to go and die in some other country where you're trying to exploit oil reserves. Why not just pump gas...without gas station attendants, the soldiers would really be dieing for nothing.Miller wrote:

So did the USA. The difference being that this led to the US becoming a greater more powerful country.CameronPoe wrote:

With Ireland just the opposite happened and everyone moved to the US except for those who weren't fortune enough and they spend their days jealously venting their frustrations at Americans on Internet forums:o FTW.
