Various BBC stuff, News 24, Newsnight etc. I quite like Channel 4 news (even if it is a tiny bit biased), Daily Politics, the Today programme (Radio 4) and finanical stuff from Bloomberg (the only US news I watch, because it's all awful, they have abc news on News 24 sometimes and it's just a joke). I tend to read the Times as well.
BBC World News
If you don't watch the news, then you must read it.....? How else would you get your information?jord wrote:
Why do you have to add the little comments on the end.
It would make more sense to just put "I don't watch the news" as an option.
It justs makes your poll bias and offensive.
I don't watch the news. You don't know everyone's situation. Some might have little time to spare, some might not own a TV.
And I think I have a right to say, MOST people who don't care about the news are ignorant.
I'm sorry if I offended you. You could select the "Other" option and explain you don't have a tv, or don't have enough time. Again, sorry....

BBC World service is the only unslanted look at American politics.
Doh.... forgot radio.... well that's why I had the "other" option.... do many people still listen to the radio for news?Bertster7 wrote:

Other. Radio. TV news is boring and the mainstream non-cable networks are all liberal, so I don't bother listening to their angle on the news. No one reports anymore, it's all opinion.
Euronews ftw
I start the day off with "Today" on BBC radio 4, then usually a bit of "Good morning Ulster" on radio Ulster.. then I watch the Channel4 news most evenings @ 7pm and RTE @ 9pm if I miss C4 earlier.. I usually read the Daily Telegraph every day and the Guardian on Saturdays. I also watch "Hearts and minds" which is an excellent political programme for N.Ireland. I also like to watch investigative news programmes like Spotlight (Northern Ireland) and Dispatches (UK/Worldwide conflicts)
what about non-america-countries!!!!
I watch the "YLE 24" news... FINLAND FTW...

Personally BBC is my favorite. Brits do it right..
China's state run news service always seems fair and balanced to me, so I pick that.

Just every morning on my way to work. I love NPR news. It's smart. Not for idiots. Consise, but informative. Not to mention, they get interviews and cover stories that would never make the evening news, for the simple reason that NPR doesn't give two shits whether or not the story would "make good T.V."Spearhead wrote:

I get most of my news reading done off the yahoo headlines and the AP. I would prefer it if there was a way to just get the facts without any commentary on them, but since that will never happen the AP is the next best thing.
BBC is my preference.
ESPN News : )
I get my news from Comedy Central
www.bf2s.com , of course!
Oh wait, television.
Nevermind, I nominate me as asshole post of the week.

I like CNN. It has nothing to do with political alignment, it's just what I grew up watching.
BBC and Channel 4 news. I also read the Times, Guardian or The daily Telegraph. I listen to Radio 4 and Radio 1 news.
BBC as it's pretty much independent. Channel 4 are pretty decent too.
I like C4 news too, but it's hard to claim they're unbiased..:XDR:.PureFodder wrote:

Yeah, but they admit it:Bertster7 wrote:

Is the news biased? wrote:
Well it's easy to say that bias is in the eye of the beholder, but in truth I think that everybody is biased, there's no such thing as absolute neutrality. Certainly on Channel 4 News what we struggle for is to be fair and to be as objective as we can. But you know, I'm a man you may be a woman, I'm a gentile you may be Jewish, I was born Christian you may be born Muslim, that means we're going to start from different positions we're going to start with different perspectives and that's inevitable, that's the way life is. I suppose what we do try to have is as eclectic a mix of people making the decisions about the we handle the day's news, and try to ensure that way that we get as objective an account of the day as is possible, but we're all human and we fail frequently.
