I thought some of you might enjoy the insane dress code we have.  Mainly for reading pleasure.
(I edited out the non-important stuff) (all in all the dress code is 2 pages typed) (the one in red is the one that is never followed nor enforced and I hate the sweatshirt rule, because who wears a collared shirt under a sweatshirt?)  Really the reason I am doing this is because I am procrastinating from doing homework.

Collared polo-style shirt (short or long sleeves)
Collared button up shirt (short or long sleeves)

HCS sweatshirts (including hooded) with acceptable shirt style underneath

Unacceptable styles:
Tops with pictures or writing

Girls’ shirts must cover midriff (front and back) at all times and are to be properly sized. Midriff (front and back) should not be exposed when sitting, bending or standing or girls will be asked to tuck in their shirt.

Boys’ shirts must be tucked in at all times.

Bottoms with belt loops for boys must be belted at all times.  Bottoms are to be worn at the natural waist – Boys.

Boys’ hair must be cut so that it is off the collar, off the eyebrows, and near the top of the ear. Sideburns should be neatly trimmed and must be no longer than the bottom of the ear.  Male students must be clean-shaven.

Faddish extremes in dress and grooming are not allowable.

ENFORCEMENT OF DRESS CODE

Grades 9-12 (Based on one quarter)

Students will receive a detention for a dress code violation.  Four detentions per quarter for any offense (tardiness, dress code violation, misconduct) will result in an in-house suspension with academic penalty

Heres what i'd do. Walk into school with my normal clothes on, stuff that i NORMALLY wear, then if they give me a detention, i'd say fuck you to the teacher, and im switching. What does this actually do to the kids. Of course if you pick on one kid for his clothes then your basically picking on yourself. And the slutty girls can't wear mini skirts and all that crap. I honestly feel sorry for you.

This is basically the dress code you'll have to deal with the rest of your life if you have an office job. Get used to it. Still, they could let you have a little fun while you're still young.

K-5 at my first school, but I didn't go there for kindergarten,  then 6-8 had a less strict dress code, basically the dress code that is posted above but you didn't nessicarily need a collared shirt and it didn't need to be tucked in.  At the high school I'm at now, you can basically wear any clothes you want (within reason) and no jeans.  Honestly I never wear jeans though.  Just because it's private, doesn't mean it has a strict dress code.

I whent to a very very cathlic school Dress code they made us memeriz it.  Ironed White dress shirt under pressed red suit top with tie exceeding no longer than the top of the navel. Pressed Navy blue dress pants not to exceed the top of the shoe. Long black socks not to exceed over 6 inches above the shoe but no less than 3. Polished black dress shoes with black laces. Punishments 1. Offence call home and detention  2. offence call home write on black board 500 times will not break dress code. 3. offence one week suspension. And if the offence was deemed very inappropriate by the father or mother nun hail Marys and detention plus call home.  And that was just for the boys……
Ouch, I've heard that the Catholic schools of old were a real bitch.

I go to a mennonite private school, only dresscode rule that's really enforced is casual clothing. So throw on jeans and a t-shirt and ur good to go. Also can't have hair that's outside the natural range, (colours like pink, orange, blue, green).

I went to a highly traditional public school. It was an all guys school. It was basicly you're meant to wear the uniform as it is meant to be worn, (shirts tucked in, trousers belted preferably above the knees,) but rules regarding hair were also in place.
Me and my mate Carl were in the same band, and you can't be in a rock band if you don't have long hair. Carl started growing his hair earlier than me and his got down to the middle of his back before he started being pulled up about it, and that was only beause they asked him to put it in a neat ponytail. He replied by giving himself Pippi Longstocking-style plaits or Princess Leia cinnamon buns and other crazy crap.

They make the rules, but they're pretty lax. If they found you were growing a beard the just told you to shave and then moved on. Also, people with religious reason to not cut hair or beards meant they were exempt.
