Well it's been awhile, I have no idea how long but life's been crazy and I've been prioritizing other things I needed to do before things like bf2s.

So I'm a US Marine now, just kidding, I came back to the US and got my US high school diploma just so I could join (no money for college GED + 15 credits) and I went to boot camp. At the eye exam there they caught something MEPS missed and apparently I have some degenerative eyesight condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa, shit sucks it deteriorates my peripheral vision and night vision first, then my center visual acuity. Anyway despite my vision never seeming to deteriorate and me being able to read their chart they still kicked me out, but not before letting me complete almost two weeks of training for nothing. I was doing really well too so I'm disappointed I couldn't finish. Made some of the best friends ever at boot and it was an overall good experience despite all the shit that goes down there. So yeah little motard Bradley who's been going on and on about the Corps for years here got medically discharged.

Right now I just bought a truck and started an interior renovation job in a town nearby. I make good money and it's fun. I'm moving on with life until I can perhaps one day get my eyes fixed and return to the Corps. A lot of other things have been going on but I won't bore you with all of that. I've also changed quite a bit mentally and physically.

I've missed you guys, what are you all up to, how's life treating you folks?

It's a 1999 Ford F150. Got it from a friend who takes really good care of his vehicles so I was lucky to get a discount on a great truck. I've hauled tons of lumber in that thing it's ridiculous how well that V8 works. I don't know much about mechanics but I'm learning from my uncle. I won't do anything to the truck most likely. I might have to get better suspension or something for all the weight I'm putting on it from the lumber.

haha I was such an idiot. I still am but I'd like to think I've improved. I'm seeing somebody right now, not really in a relationship per se but we do have sex.

What's new around here? Anything changed, anybody of the old guys gone, any new people?

Yeah, I think last time I was here I was asking for help with some girl back in December. Wow has it really been that long?

I'm moving on with my life as though I will never return to the Corps, but should the option be available in the near-ish future I would gladly go back. I'm at peace with the fact that might never happen, it's not a big deal whether it happens or not. I'm just trying to figure out what to do next. I might move to Bend, Oregon, or maybe the Nashville area of Tennessee. Many of the people I've met say those are both wonderful places. I want to get out of California. The cost of living here is ridiculous. I'm still not sure what career I want to pursue but with the skills I'm learning working in interior renovating I see no reason I couldn't open my own company somewhere doing just that.

What I don't get though is that as far back as I can remember (6 years old) I've always had 20/40 corrected vision. The peripheral vision loss I didn't really notice and I can still see out of the corners of my eyes, and the nightblindness is actually only marginally worse than my sisters' whom both have perfect vision. I didn't even know anything was seriously wrong. Anyway, I got some testing done and supposedly this is a genetically inherited disease but nobody on either side of my family can recall anybody having eye issues up to six generations back (grandparents' grandparents.)

seriously, try being born with a detached retina. being blind in an eye doesn't compare to going blind in in the other. i started doing photography because i couldn't see a goddam thing 20 yards away, so i took pictures and posted them to a computer monitor so i could take a look beyond the distance i could hit a 9 iron.

Brad, as thick headed as you are you have something going for you. Family, being young, and only the possibility that you won't see. don't let haters like atg or anyone bring you down, determine what you enjoy doing and do it.
