Now I know there's a lot but my vote would go for Phantom of the Opera. I've always liked the story and about a year and a half ago i got the DVD on the newest movie version and needless to say it was pretty good. I never saw the older one but i'm guessing it was pretty good
I saw rent on broadway and i thought it was pretty good. I didnt get to see wicked though but i heard that wicked is supposed to be amazing
Does Singing in the Rain count?
Yeah, its a classic, though i've never seen the whole movieAquastorm wrote:

But I saw "Fame" in London, and I thought that was a very good musical.
I'm full of contradictions. I just contradicted myself^.

1) that you've never watched disney
2) your dad was abusive
3) you're homophobic (even though there's nothing homosexual about musicals)
4) you suck at singing and music in general
5) you're insecure

there you go (on a side note, it is pretty "estrogeney" to like musicals"chittydog wrote:
Id have to go with Rocky Horror Picture Show. That was a great musical. Oh, and nothin wrong with a guy seeing a musical, especially if you are taking your wife / girlfriend out on the town. I take my wife to the theatre to see a play at least once a season.
Toss up between Avenue Q, Rocky Horror, Phantom of the Opera, and West Side Story.
Elizabeth, The Dance of The Vampires, The Phantom of the Opera and the Mozart!.

Schindler's List the musical? Come again?
This is a bit like the "who's the best composer" poll. My personal favorites, in film format, are "The Music Man" (1962), and "Cats" (1998). "Mary Poppins" (despite extended non-singing scenes), "Oklahoma!" and "Grease" are other great pieces.

I saw Chicago at the Strand Theatre in London. It was fantastic.

Well I've only seen Camelot but if movies count I suppose you can call The Blues Brothers one, eh?
The Muppet Movie
I saw Riverdance. It was actually really good.
As a big Billy Joel fan I also went to see Movin' Out. It was AMAZING.
Also, anyone who says "I don't see plays because I'm not gay" obviously isn't secure with their sexual status.
