A friend of mine says he's heard about chopper flying hacks. Is that right? Has anyone heard of those?  I must admit that every now and then I see people doing things on a chopper that are not possible in the real world but I just wrote that off to a poor flight sim by EA.

Any truth to that rumor?

BF2 isn't a poor flight sim, something can't be bad at what it isn't.

Chopper flying hacks? IE, ones that fly the chopper for you? If the bots are any indication, a computer can't do something like that as well as a human in BF2.

Well, he didn't tell me what he meant by a chopper hack - that is, what it is supposed to do better than a person does or maybe not better but different. Maybe it isn't an autopilot. Maybe it's a hack that allows the person flying to bypass the 'rules' of flying within the game by being able to position the helicopter in ways that a non hacker flyer cannot do.  For example, have you seen choppers fly around in a near vertical position and flying in a tight circle over a target site. That's not even possible in a real chopper so how the hell is it possible in this game?

I HIGHLY doubt there are any chopper hacks, what would the hack do anyways.

Well I guess I don't have the same def of flight sim that you have. I consider a program that simulates flight within a three d 'computerized environment' to be a flight sim. If flying around in a jet or in a helicopter within a game, according (loosely) to the laws of physics, particularly aerodynamics, is not a flight sim, then just what the heck do you call it???

BF2 doesn't make any attempt at making flying realistic in the sense that you have to control a million different things at once, like the microsoft flight sims or the old school apache longbow sims.  That's the difference.  BF2 is a FPS that lets you use vehicles, but the flight is dumbed down considerably from a true flight sim.

I can do that. It's not hard. I can make at least one circle per 5m of altitude I lose, while almost perpendicular to the ground.

Edit: misread... nvm

Lol, great thread... I can tell you that I can do the nearly vertical circle strafe and don't need no stinking hacks for that. Imagine how hard it would be to write a hack that does chopper flying. It would be like coding the AI for the piloting when you play single player.

But yes, BF2 is not real by any means. The stuff I can do in the chopper would never be possible in a real chopper. But that's what makes it so fun to fly :-)

onlything that could be considered anything close to that would be some feel solo flying an exploit.. which is retarded and false... but also you can use macros for tv missles.. but still doesnt mean youll hit your target soo... no theres no real 'chopper'  hack that i know of.

Unfortuantly the Cobra can wall glitch into many building on MANY maps including the HOTEL on SHARQI... forget karkand.. imagine having a cobra with tv missiles in a building... = screwed!

Hoping EA will fix this coding error in the patch tomorrow, the 15th.

If there's a chopper flying hack then all it does is something pretty trivial, like keeping the chopper steady when you switch to gunner seat or something.

All the maneouvres you've discussed are easily done by a competent pilot without any hacks.

There is a fair bit of potential for a weapons aimbot (and I should imagine these exist), but they're nothing new or special worth mentioning.

After watching your tutorials on how to fly after flyin on my own for lotsa hours I've come to the conclusion that you just might use macros.  I been meanin to post on this but I forgot.

It seems like you switch seats, change to TV and fire all within the time it takes to press one button...Or was that video made a long time ago? Not that I care, I don't give two flying fucks, I'm just curious. (not that you'd admit to it)

the most usefull I could think about it seeing the enemy's names on the ground, that way you'll get a lot of kills, but don't be a noob and don't use hacks. So don't ask for them, jump in the AA, launch a few AT to the chopper or even worse for them, sit in a vehicle and shoot at them, they'll be down soon.

yes there are. I witnessed along with many other people a guy flying solo in a the cobra and RAPID firing tv guided missles and never reloading. Lets just say he went 45-0 because of this.

i think anyones claim of a helo/jet hack is just their way of dealing with getting dominated by that person. i have never seen nor heard of any hack for the vehicles. and to be honest, it would have to be one hell of a flippin hack to be better than a real person in flight. I have never seen any computer program with the intuition of a real person in flight, and i dont think we will for a while now.

I've seen guys in the gunner seat that hit stuff with the TV guided missile that would not technically be possible.  I was battling against such a fella.  He blew us up out of no where consistently and hit us with that missile while we were dive bombing people...crap like that.  I assume it was no more than luck, but then again...I've seen some crazy hacks on this game.

A few days ago, I watched someone drop HUNDREDS of cars in one vehicle drop many times over!!  There were cars falling everywhere killing most anyone within a certain radius.  I thought it was pretty funny but no one knew who it was...so they blamed me and kicked me from the server??  I have no idea how it was happening!!

Just because you havent seen one doesnt mean there arent any. There was like 10 peopel watching this guy shoot tv after tv without reloading it either. This is a hack. it was rapid firing the missles one after another.
