What's the translation there?

Based on what? Seriously. Where are you from? Name how many Nations we have rebuilt. Now, count the number of Nations your Country has rebuilt. We are less generous than who/ what standard?

I don't think your from Holland, but I'll take a toke off of what ever your smoking! 4xure

Like I said in the opening of this post, i didn't know if an actual Australian Dentist wrote this. Not the point. It is the context of the letter that I found so good. My Opinion. Just sharing a well written piece of literature.

No, what he's pointing out is that even though we had given more than anybody, they still hate us.
Its not what you said, its how you said it

Also, Russia got bitchowned by Afganistan. They went past the borders then got lacerated by guerrilla fighters.

the most chilling declaration that i have ever read on this forum. the erasure of "difference" in the name of (american) freedom (there are at least two ways to interpret that, and both of the ones i'm thinking of are correct) is what actually prevents most non-americans from being able to accept us interventions as being in the name of their freedom. i love many americans, and many of the products of american culture, but i am not by any stretch of the imagination an american - that's not a criticism of america, its a proclamation of my individuality, and the distinct character of my culture. Fuck you Peter Ferrara.

Hey Mate, I catch what your saying 100%!

I would like to think that Peter would say the same thing, saying, just because your not an American you don't have any of those same qualities, i.e. "Americans are not a particular people from a particular place, they are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American." or Chinese, Australian, Afghanistan, Swedish, Taiwanese, Siamese, Canadian, etc.

Some countries may give more of the GOVERNMENT collected money. The United States gives huge amounts of
GOVERNMENT collected money, but ALSO has the highest private citizen charitable contributions in the world.
Go ahead and try and cite something that contradicts that statement.

"Ich bin ein Berliner" is a classic faux pas by Kennedy.  He intended to say, "I am a citizen of Berlin" or, "I am a Berliner"  Well, unfortunately - a Berliner is a donut.  So he proudly announced that he was a donut.  Specifically a jelly donut.

It was part of a speach he was giving about how everyone in the world was a citizen of Berlin to try and show some representative struggle blah blah blah.  Basically a more succinct version of this letter.  Google the phrase, I'm sure you'll get a number of hits on the kennedy speech

Written by an Australian Dentist...

"To Kill an American "
You probably missed it in the rush of news last week, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let
everyone know, what an American is. So they would know when they found one.

”An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish,
Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican,
African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.

An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navajo,
Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as Native-Americans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.

The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness. An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.

When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan. Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, and the best services. But they also welcome the least. The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty, welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America.

Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 90 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other bloodthirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place, they are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.

Reagan was I believe still a democrat at this time
June 1952 (from a commencement address at Williams Woods College, one of the oldest surviving speeches of Reagan's)

"I, in my own mind, have always thought of America as a place in the divine scheme of things that was set aside as a promised land. It was set here and the price of admission was very simple: the means of selection was very simple as to how this land should be populated. Any place in the world and any person from those places; any person with the courage, with the desire to tear up their roots, to strive for freedom, to attempt and dare to live in a strange and foreign place, to travel halfway across the world was welcome here."

Are you serious man? Did you read the letter? I don't know the member you are referring to, personally. I haven't even engaged in a pm to the guy. So you waste your time, misquoted me, and try to make some point, failing in doing so.... well there you go.  In all honesty other members did enjoy and thanked me for posting this.
Being that you're a hater, you missed the point all together.

I just picked a random post of yours to say that in the context of this thread, you are an idiot.

I wont even waste my time citing the vast supply of sources negating and debunking every comment you have made thus far.  Instead, I'll point you toward wikipedia, and ask that you simply compare the history of your nation compared to others before you flap your limey toothbox about the rest of the world.

Ahem.  That being said, I have nothing against anyone, or any nation, but in my country we are taught that all men are created equal, and I can't stand for someone to judge another or their land based on what they may see on TV or hear from their elders.

You see, my friends, until you walk a mile in another man's shoes, you have no clue what they feel like, and can only guess their size.  Not to say America is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I'll be damned if I take any jive about the US not offering aid and succor to the needy.

A common debate in this country amongst it's citizens is why we give so much to the world and don't keep it for ourselves... Just name me one other place where this is a widespread concern.
