Can't say I was surprised at the outcome. Medics have better weapons for CQ fighting than Snipers. Even with the spaming of claymores Medics simply revive each other. So the ticket bleed will always be more for the snipers who can't save tickets by reviving. Then of course you have the point blank range fighting. All you have is your pistol against the L96 or the G36-E.
Then of course you have the cluster fuck on the Sniper side. Imagine that? You mean an entire team of loners that usually operate alone couldn't work together as a team? Tell me it isn't so! *sarcasim*
Seriously, it's sad that a match up like this had to be done but simply put Snipers are not as useful as they want to think they are. Sure they are annoying, sure everyone hates running into claymores. But when it comes right down to it, Sniper don't win games they just help a little. Everyone else does the hard work. Cold hard facts.
Now I wouldn't mind seeing a few other match ups.
Spec Ops vs. Medics might be a little more fair. C4 bombs and accurate weapons might help.
Supply vs. Assault would be a pretty good match up.
We'll be holding more such events and also trying different pairings.
But lets not kid ourselves here, this match does not prove a damn thing about how either kit plays within a team. It shows how these teams played against each other on this occasion.
The very opening moves as the snipers, as US, advanced on Karkand city showed that they are much better when behind other troop types. This reliance on other kits is not an indication that they are no good in a team, it shows that they are best as part of a team. A fairer test is to play a match with any kit EXCEPT sniper against any kit EXCEPT medic; but that doesn't sound like so much fun.
It was the fun that we played for.

From the webcast you see that the snipers weren't too chatty even on their best of rounds.
This is what lost it for the snipers in my opinion. I said before the match that the team with the better strats and comms would win and that was the case.

3rd, is there any hope of still having an american version? 'cause i was in for about 20 minutes, originally as reserve, and my ping was pretty horrendous.
As I said in the cast, we want to do that and the guys at fragtv.net are telling me that they can hook DMZ-gaming up with a decent server to host it on.
