The best PCI graphics card imo. Runs WoW with everything turned all the way up and all details turned on with no change in framerate, which is probably pretty good for a PCI card. Haven't tried it with BF2 yet though.

Crap dude...x300 aint a graphics card. It's a Mouse in a Wheel getting zapped with an electric shock every other minute. I know, cause that came with my new Dell desktop.

Which is why I don't game with it. I use my Dell XPS M170 laptop with the GeForce Go 7800 GTX. All high settings and smooth as buddah.

I had to earn my first 2,000 points in Battlefield 2 on an ATI Radeon x300 128MB.

Worst . . . piece . . . of . . . shit . . . ever. 25fps is like a Horror Movie.

Could barely handle all settings on LOW and viewing scale at 50%.

I got my first 8000 points with a pentium 4 2.6ghz (i believe, may be wrong) 512mb ram and a nvidia 5200 i wasnt able to fly planes or helicopters cause it would just jump, every thing on low to...it was the best day of my life when my new pc arrived

Oooo. Feel your pain. It was a cool card for Call of Duty or Counter Strike, but BF2, being the system hog that it is, really is pushing it.

If anybody has a x200, x300, or x300SE, know that updating your drivers from ATI.com is one of THE best things you can do. It really helps. And if the graphics are a real letdown for you, I offset it when I had mine by turning the audio quality all the way up to high. I had a decent sound card but I believe onboard audio allows the settings to be turned up to Medium at the least. The audio sounds soooooo good when set to Medium or High. It made me understand why BF2 was so glorious in the beginning. It still is now, but a few more flaws are present in the game.

With the x300 and x300SE, I found that 512MB of RAM with a screen resolution of 1024x768 will allow for ONE medium setting at around 25-29fps. I once tried upping all settings to Medium and got around 7fps. (I thought I could've gotten a purple heart, but i was very close at 4 and 19.) Note that if your Resolution is set higher than 1024x768, the video card will have to work much more than the RAM or CPU. Of course, I believe all Medium settings can be put on a 800x600 game with no lag, but everything looks so damn big - it sucks. So my advice is up the audio quality or mess around with the Video settings to find the perfect balance between performance and quality.

I later upgraded to an x800 256MB and then most recently to a x1800 256MB. Best $400 I ever spent.

Current rig has 2x6600GT Extreme's SLi'd which pulls scores just short of a 7800GT on 3DMark but I do have an old machine in the cellar with an Orchid Righteous 3D card in it (one of the first 3d cards ever) which used to plug in next to your 2D card - ahhh those were the days....... Wouldnt play Solitare now!!!

Earned my beginning points on a p.o.s. HP Pentium 4, 2.6 with an ATI9600 and a gig and a half of RAM. Had all settings as low as they could go with about 25% on view, shit sucked baboon balls!!!!

Talked my wife into letting me get an Area-51, Pentium 4 3.4 with Nvidia 7800gt and 2 gigs of RAM. MUUUUUUUUUUCH better!!!!!! Everything is set on high and I can play now without any lag what-so-ever!!! Course, now I don't have an excuse as to why I suck so bad.........I just suck with a better machine is all. It's not the *BEST* machine out there by any means, but it sure is sweet and kicks the shit outa my old one.

I use a nVidia 7800GT with 256 mb. 2 gigs of Kingston ram. Since doing a couple of the tweaks from this site, I get 60-99 fps with everything maxed. Also downloaded the new drivers which added about 7fps.
