i just saw that in bf:vietnam you got one of these. i dont know, maybe i played too much grand theft auto but i think it would be sweet to have a radio in both jeeps that had 3d sound so everyone nearby could hear it. it would make those long trips in a car across Zatar wetlands and Daqing oilfields more bearable.

- jeep drivers need a secondary weapon to the horn called a RADIO
It was nice in Vietnam since it had songs very characteristic of the era, but it got annoying after awhile. Served no purpose but to give your position away.
And to dices credit, its kind of hard to choose the songs that will characterize the near future.
Edit: Also, wrong forum?

I always wanted a radio in the choppers too! Get people revved up before drop off. Im sure it wouldnt help latency though. So whilst a fun idea, it may prove to be too much for Dice to implement into the game efficiently.
Latency isn't a matter, it can be all clientside.
Since Apocolypse Now, there's nothing better than blaring Ride of the Valkyries as you descend on your LZ (assuming that you get that far with the nerfed Blackhawk).MaximumMayhem wrote:

Or O Fortuna you got to have that in The BF2 helos
Dear God please let my karma one day reach 100, whether it be tomorrow or 1000 years in the future i want it to happen.
Um there is a mod for this see what you do is you take out your ipod and put on ear buds under your headphones and WHALA a radio all client side =p
I've heard that EA/Dice actually tested a radio in the jeeps for BF2 but it caused lag issues so they decided not to.
I see no reason why you can't upload songs into a folder called "radio" and evey vehicle in the game can't have it. In NHL2002 you could do that, and it would play your songs during the "commercial breaks" and whatnot in your arena.
I think that's a fantastic idea! +1

Yea, but the whole point of blaring Ride of the Valkyries is to intimidate your enemy as you approach them ... they get so scared that they just run away like little girlies.My_pet_squirrel wrote:

I just turn on music in Windows media player, set it on random, and start BF2!
ipods are for metrosexuals. Real men use 8 track.My_pet_squirrel wrote:

I have a great idea, why don't users on BF2s us search? This was posted a few months ago, I feel as if I am reading the same thread, just different names.

recently read some of that post i think you are refering to Psprpg-7 and it is what actually spurred me to posting my idea. i thought it needed a re-mentioning
Yah I miss the radio in the vehicles in BF2..even the jets had radios LMFAO +1 for bringing back old memories..
ooooh yeah nice idea
Or make an option ingame too load up ur own music, so when u like in tank /jeep/chopper/any other vehicle I would play Greenday Would be like pwnage..!!

well you can always mod your sound files to play them. i dont know how much punkbusters check but i would take a guess that you could get away with modified in-vehicle sounds. if i remember correctly a friend of mine that was making a map said that in the editor you could add any sound/music as a localized sound on the map and i would guess you could use the editor to change vehicles too.
It may be a problem as far as ingame VoiP is concerned.
Unless you have music on left channel and VoiP on right. It's hard enough trying to hear some people on the mic without music. Interesting concept though.

I'd love to roll into Sharqi listening to my humps.
