None of the above.  The best type of credit card is the type that you don't use.  They can get you into serious financial trouble quickly.

chicks and their credit cards eh!

i maxed out my visa and went over the £500 limit in my third year at uni, still paying it off just now through direct debits! probably already paid £700 towards it but still paying it off!

got a master card just now and not using it unless i have to, i.e. bills at the end of the month when i have no money left.

I depends ...

American Express if you can't manage your money well because you would be required to pay off at the end of every month (or any other card with such a requirement).   Credit cards are advanced financial instruments, and should be used by those who know how to manage money well, and are in a stable financial situation ... I can't tell you how many people I work with who are in major financial problems simply because of credit cards.

If you can manage money well .... MasterCard/Visa if you want a card that can be used internationally.  Discover if you would use it mostly in the United States.

Quick Money Management Test
If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, you may have financial management problems

1.  Do you often pay bills late?
2.  Do you pay the minimum amount (or less) on loans and credit cards?
3.  Does an increasing amount of your net income go to debt payments?
4.  Have you reached your limit on credit cards?
5.  Do you pay bills with money that was intended for other things?
6.  Do you use credit cards to pay for things that you used to pay for with cash?  (On average, credit card uses spend 30% more money than cash users, by the way).
7.  Do you delay or omit visits to the doctor or dentist, or not purchase prescriptions, because money is tight?
8.  Do you get calls from collection agencies regarding unpaid bills?
9.  Do you work overtime or a second job to raise cash to pay bills?
10.  Would losing a job (yours or your spouses) create near-instant financial trouble?
11.  Is money a constant concern for you?
