i use a Logitech Attack 3 (wicked looking joystick) for jets, and mouse and keyboard for helos.

Keyboard and mouse | 52% | 52% - 146 | ||||

I was thinking about getting a new system. Mine is almost six years old now. Do you use your X52 for ground combat as well? I use the pro throttle and mouse for ground combat but for jets i use the full system. Was wanting to get a new Chproducts system but they cost too freakin much.leesupport wrote:

I put the joystick, throttle and mouse all side by side on a 1/2"x6" board that I lay across the arms of a chair that I sit in. Tapped the controllers and mouse pad down to the board. The hard part is finding the right chair to make it all work.leesupport wrote:

That's great. I use a joystick. Screenshot was from MoonGamers Mostly Oman - no uncappable spawn raping allowed.XxUNDEROATHxX wrote:

I tried the whole kb mouse thing with the demo... wasnt happening.
I did the whole keyboard and keyboard thing... and that got old but it was very effective. Hence why my jet kd ratio blows so much ass.
Finally got a joystick, nice and cheap saitek st90 14 bucks, no twist action, still using wasd for throttle and rudder. Got sick of having a sore left hand and decided to step my game up.
This joystick has a lot of bugs but once you iron them out pretty much its butter I can perform almost 60 functions at the tip of my hands using the joystick.
chat, eject, parachute, hat view, map resize, map window, talk to the commander, open up the main radio window and spot an enemy while im flying. There is just a lot you can do With this joystick its amazing, and the trottle helps you hover cap flags in a helicopter or pull off some crazy ass stunts that you cannot pull off with a mouse. Its just not accurate enough.
The only benefiit a mouse will give you over a joystick is that you can fire rockets in a helicopter more in a more stable focused pattern.
But 100 dollars is quite excessive.

I had the same thing happen. Don't give up man. It took me awhile to get used to a joystick but I'm super glad I did.-=raska=- wrote:
just bought a joystick few days ago and for the moment im a lot less accurate than with a mouse. the biggest advantages I found for the moment are : 1. you can make sharp turns and its easier to avoid aa's 2. dont have to keep pressing the W button during the whole game, the throttle thing do it for you and lots of buttons on the top of the joystick so its easy to swith camera
but for example while machinegunning moving choppers im a lot less accurate then with my mouse... And Im thinking to get a refund on my joystick not because it sucks, it works well but I think ill never get used with it although Ive only used it for a few hours... I dont know if I can judge yet, but i think ill be more confortable with a mouse forever. anyway ill see
edit : and btw ive got a Saitek Cyborg Evo
I completely agree with Ajax. Your aim probably will be affected at first, but once you get used to the joystick and how it feels, you'll definitely start to excell. Try to experiment with the joystick and see what the limits of each jet are. It really helps to know the plane you're flying.Ajax_the_Great1 wrote:
