There are far too many snipers out there now.  Now I'm not saying they are bad and all, I'm just saying I'm light years ahead of them.

When there is a Tank killing us continuously, and every single member of our team is Sniper class, that spells L-O-S-S.  Now I'm not that experienced of an AT, but I will definitely spawn as AT if a similiar situation arises.
I do everything that is Jesus-ly possible (not physically possible, but JESUS-LY possible) to make our team win rather than go for the golden KD (even though my real KD would be so high that everyone seeing it would have their heads explode).

I know I know, people see me and want to be in my shoes yada yada (which is the reason for the rise of popularity of Sniping).  But please do so discretely, don't do it just to benefit yourself and cause your team to lose.


Does anyone else think there are too many snipers other than me these days?

I think a main contributing factor to the rise of snipers lately is the L96A1, and the increased accuracy from a couple patches ago. I was sniping long before that patch, but now just about anyone can grab a rifle and get a few kills. That's not to say that some snipers aren't better than others, there are clearly some that are a cut above the rest. Those of us that used to snipe when the rifles weren't necessarily as accurate as they are now are seeing a clear advantage over the casual sniper, but the margin has somewhat shrunk.

And as annoying as it is for me as a sniper sometimes, I may begin to prefer servers with Claymore Friendly Fire turned on. It prevents spamming them all over because taking that many TK punishes per round just isn't worth the one or two kills I might get by throwing a clay in the middle of the street. As of right now though, they're somewhat buggy from what I can tell. It seems as though you have to be on the exact same Y-axis as the claymore for it to detonate sometimes. I think I'll start testing that and we'll see what I come up with.

Side note: Posting videos of nothing but kills proves very little. Anyone can compile their highlights and look like a God. Judging by the K/D ratio of the sniper who started this thread, a full Battlerecorder Demo of one of his rounds wouldn't really impress many people. Now, I don't claim to be some kind of CPL marksman, nor do I claim a fantastic K/D ratio myself (although it is above 1.0 ) but unless a self proclaimed pure sniper player has a K/D over 2.0 I can't say I'm all that impressed. Just my opinion, feel free to do with it what you will.

I should also add, I remember that segment sarcastically criticizing the sniper's usefulness. It was long before the latest batch of sniper enhancements, including the L96A1. Since then people have become much more adept at using the sniper class effectively in team play. But it's hard to argue that a team full of nothing but snipers won't do you much good when the armor column rolls into town.

I'm getting fed up with all the snipers in this game. On Insomnia Mashtuur the other day, as USMC:

A third of the team was sniper

A third was a bunch of point-whoring medics

A third was a bunch of support

When a tank went to spawn camp in South Gas, ppl spawned as Engineers. Oh, and our commander was reluctant to be an engy himself and instead was a sniper. God. A good team should only have about 5 snipers AT MOST. Any more is just overkill.

The other use for snipers that I've recently found is acting as a squad leader, you can sit back away from a CP and provide fire and act as a SP. This gives your team a large ammount of information about their surrounding area and gives them a chance to spawn away from rape zones but still clsoe to the frontline. yes it may not get you points, but tbh I've stopped caring about points now.

haha its kinda funny you think your some expert.....Watching your videos I've seen alot of people just as good and I'm one of them, the other people though dont go showing off. Stick your neck out far enough, and it might get chopped off.
