I agree with you in principle; that's true in urban areas, and during the summer. Most of my driving has been in wintery conditions, with minimal traction.

In my experience, people brake far too hard and far too late when encountering animals, for instance, turns they had previously misjudged or even pedestrians who they think want to cross the road. Attempting to come to a dead stop in an impossible distance (+snow) never ends well. On the other hand, steady speed, no brakes and confident steering keeps everything going.

When driving, you do not expect everyone in front of you to come to a dead stop instantaneously either. It would make driving behind anyone impossible.

Also, how many people in NA have seen/been in a crash where a stupid idiot stopped in the middle of a roundabout/onramp because they were thinking they'd avoid the other person merging who'd also stopped?

I hate paying $10 for a lunch salad because I want to eat a little lighter, when it is only slightly bigger than the side salad, but adds a couple small pieces of grilled chicken.

And the lunch entree is also $10, has a large piece of grilled chicken, but comes with a side salad and another side.

This is one of the reasons America is so fat... We have to get the biggest bang for our buck, and everyone charges more for healthier foods.

It's the same story here, pisses me off. Not sure how a salad is expensive to prepare when you can buy a whole bag of salad that is enough for four meals for $3 at the supermarket, and one chicken breast is like $3. So $6 to make four meals and they charge $10 per meal??
