Yesterday me and my family drove around for 30 minutes trying to find a proper chinese buffett. 2 towns later we found one. I thought it sucked.

I don't get people who like to give Uncle Sam loans.  Adjust your deductions so you are always negative.  And you if want that extra cash like the tax refund, just setup a secondary account that gets automatic transfers from another account.
Not that I like to. I had someone screw up my taxes really badly a few years ago and show that I owed a ton of money. I was broke and was expecting a small return (I usually like to get about $500 back state and $500 back Federal, just to stay positive). We had just had our second kid and was SUPPOSED to get about $4K back that year because I hadn't adjusted my deductions for the kiddo yet. They screwed up, and I was dumb enough to just trust it. So instead of a return, we had to pay the tax preparation place $200 plus play State $500 plus pay Federal $2,000. Because of this, it made things REALLY rough on us, and I adjusted the withholdings to prevent it from happening again. Turns out the tax guy had Alzheimer's and screwed up a BUNCH of returns. So the next year we ended up getting about $10K. So every year I adjust it down a little more, so we get a bigger paycheck and less return, but I am scared to adjust it too much at once, especially since I get a cost of living and a merit raise every year, and therefore owe more taxes... So over the last 5 years, we have cut that $10K return down to $4K, and then this year's adjustment SHOULD cut it down to about $1K, where I will leave it as a safety net against owning. I know everyone says "Owe as close to zero as you can!" but we are banking $230/paycheck right now, and about to add $150/paycheck between tax decrease and merit raise this month, so I feel pretty comfortable with how it is. I like three raises a year.

I will never go negative again though.

Yeah, I understand.  Bad times and screw ups with tax returns.  That's why I do my own taxes for the most part ( I have a sister who works in Federal level finance who knows everything about taxes if I need help).   Yeah, raises are great, but wait till you make enough that you can't get child credits.  Yeah, it stinks, especially after you see "hardly working" types with a ton of kids collecting all those child tax credits.

You'd be suprised how low it is:

$55,000 for married couples filing separately,
$75,000 for single, head of household, and qualifying widow(er) filers, and
$110,000 for married couples filing jointly
In the phaseout range, the child tax credit is reduced by $50 for each $1,000 of income above these threshold amounts.

Consoles are cheap, one time purchases.  Monthly Kumon costs more.

$110k isn't a lot of money at all man. It's not in the realm of juggling bills to keep shit from getting turned off on you, but it ain't livin baller style either

There are actually a lot of Asian families moving into my area. Of course a Kumon center opened up to take advantage of this.

Depends on your cost of living. If I bought a house around here it would cost like $30k a year for the mortgage, plus another 10-15k for property taxes. There goes half your pre-tax income

My wife and I have worked our ass off to get to where we are.  My wife, Director of Nursing, gets calls in the weekends and at nights on a regular basis.  Back when I was not doing development work, I'd also get calls on some evenings.  And then there are these baby farm families single income households collecting $1K per kid, if not more, from of EIC.
