EXACTLY! That is my point! That is also your right! Forcing those places to abide by you is not your right. Thank you!
But if I end up there, I still carry.  No, my view point is more juvenile.  I hope that business fails. They don't respect my constitutional rights.

If you carry around a gun with you wherever you go, I'd classify that as paranoia.

Banks, Schools, Police Departments, Federal Buildings. Have fun.
In Florida you can carry a gun in the Capitol... Have fun.

And you can carry in a bank.

If you don't believe going into a private business could change your rights, how do you possibly believe that crossing a state line changes them?

Why?
Because you must be living in a state of constant fear if you'd take the trouble to strap a gun to your hip every day. I carried a weapon in Iraq every day because there was a real fear of being attacked. That was institutional paranoia on the part of the military, and justified. I've never felt the same sense of fear walking down the streets of New York, or anywhere else in the country for that matter. What are you afraid of?

Either it is legal for people (States, businessowners, homeowners) to make rules for their land or it isn't.

You can't pick and choose if it is legal or not. Either is is, or it isn't.

Mannn.. We've gone down this road before.  I'm an Eagle Scout.  I live by the motto 'be prepaired'.  I'd rather have an not need than need and not have.  I also carry a pocket knife, phone and wallet.  The firearm I settled on for my daily carry is smaller than the average male's wallet.  It is honestly virtually unnoticeable.  I almost forget it is in my pocket.

Uh... Yea you can.  It is what we're debating about.  Where does your rights start and mine end.  I all ready gave you my opinion.

Just because I come in your store or home, it doesn't give you the right to do whatever they hell you want to me...

It has more to do with not being willing to die for someone elses money.
In his situation, I could care less about the money.  Better alive and fired, than dead and permanently "unemployed".

Well make up your mind.

I say Individuals can tell you that you can't carry a gun in their home, or they have the right to make you leave.

I say business owners have the right to tell you that you can't carry a gun in their business, or they have the right to make you leave.

I say states have the right to tell you that you can't carry a gun in their state, or they have the right to lock you up for breaking your law.

You are saying none of those are true, and you are going to do what you want, BUT that you aren't because you don't want to go to jail...

Meanwhile, LET ME SAY I don't have any problem with you legally carrying a gun everywhere you go. I actually agree with you that it is part of being prepared. As long as you are trained with it, and responsible with/for it, and obeying the laws.

I believe there is a difference between a business and a residence.  I don't necessarily have to go to your house.  Granted while maybe I don't have to go to your store or restaurant, at the same time I am allowed (or should be allowed) to protect myself regardless of the location.  You aren't allowed to beat me to death in your home.  Besides one can't guarantee my personal safety in their establishment.

As much as I am for States... State laws don't trump the Constitution.  The Civil War kinda proved that.

The problem with your last statement is that a criminal doesn't respect your opinion anymore than the law, let alone a store's rule.  At the end of the day, I leave it up to myself to ensure my own safety.

Yet they all interpret this information differently. Own guns at home vs carry concealed vs open carry... You can't carry in a bank here. You can in Florida. Different interpretations. I can carry concealed in my state, but not at work, it is against their policies. I can carry in my house, but not in my friend's house. He doesn't want guns around his kids. I can respect these state's decisions and obey them, or I can disrespect them and break their rules/laws. Same for my work. Same for my bank. Same for my friend's house.

End result, no matter if the outcome is beneficial:

I would still expect to go to jail after carrying a gun in a bank, and pulling it to defend against a bank robber.

I would fully expect to be fired after pulling my gun at work and shooting the co-worked that showed up with a rifle and started picking people off.

I would fully expect to be arrested for carrying a gun into the White House, even if I argued my rights don't change just because I am going into the President's house. Even if I argued with the Secret Service that they can't stop me from believing in God while in the oval office, and that they can't pick and choose which rights to enforce.

Walgreen's guy should have expected to be fired. Walgreen's guy should have been fired. Walgreen's guy should be happy no one got hurt, and have a warm fuzzy spot in his heart, and move on.

Also, I think some of the blurred line here is in the fact we are mixing rights and laws and policies into one big lump. I don't think Walgreen's guy should go to jail for carrying, if he was LEGALLY carrying. It wasn't against the LAW then... Just against his company policies, and they are the only ones punishing him.

See, regardless of where you are, my the person cannot guarantee my protection, However the Constitution has provided me with a measure to help me protect myself.

A problem no doubt.  States need to be more on the same page when it makes laws directly concerning a constitutional right.

Not in Florida.

Again, not in Florida.  There is actually specific laws that prohibit prosecution.

I'm not delusional, and I know this too... Same reason I won't take my gun into an airport.  Just because I interpret the Constitution one way doesn't make me the law.  I was using that argument to show how over the years people are picking and choosing what (and how) to enforce.
