I hear nothing but good things about it from all the Euros, and it's finally here for the USA:

You have to get an invite, Trent Reznor tweeted his invite link but I didn't see it till 20 minutes after the fact, and by then all his invites were used up. You can also buy Spotify Premium and get an account instantly.

Basically this.

Back in the day it was wonderful. Now you can barely use it without paying a subscription fee. Only being able to listen to 10 hours a month is fine, but only being able to listen to each track 5 times is just stupid.

Still, it's a great service and works really well. If the price of premium wasn't so high I'd probably use it so I could listen to their huge library on my phone.

If anything, I actually like it more than pirating music because I can listen to a song immediately without having to search for it and download it, or look it up on YouTube and have to search through a bunch of 13 year olds bad piano covers.

Spotify used to be a great concept, play music for free, however only for 20 hours a month and with commercials. Now they changed it to 10 hours a month, commercials and you're only allowed to listen to the same song 5 times, EVER. Unless ofcourse you upgrade.

used to be an advert (30s) every 15-20mins though.

I was in beta too. It was the best thing ever at the time.

Now the free experience is just a shadow of what it used to be. I can't really blame them though, I read they were losing heaps of money on it.
